Do we follow Aelita or Starfire?
Follow Starfire for a bit
“So where are we heading?” Jirou asked as the van continued down the road. “Do you have Starfire’s sister at your place?”
“No, we’re heading to a furniture store,” Poppy explained as she tried to merge lanes.
“Why?” Jirou asked as she tried to ignore the Lara Croft getting spit roasted in the back of a limo.
“Yes why?” Starfire demanded, not wanting further delay in seeing her sister.
“She just spent the last five years as a foot stool,” Yoko explained. “One of Poppy’s conquests specializes in making furniture and recovering characters from furniture.”
“How did you find her?” Starfire asked curious as they pulled into an outlet mall.
“There are sites where you can track where characters of the same instance are, which I tried first,” Poppy explained. “That didn’t work, so I looked on social media where people usually post their characters, identifying them via instance number which is where I found her.”
“Her owner was an asshole,” Yoko commented, which Poppy acknowledged.
(Flashback)
Poppy and Yoko pulled into the driveway of a modest two bedroom house; the two of them wearing shabby and somewhat dirty clothing. Looking at the house, Poppy quickly noticed an elf girl crawling about, eating the grass. The elf girl, after a moment, was recognized as High Elf Archer from Goblin Slayer and had some mechanical bits and looked at the visitors with both pleading and fearful eyes. It took Poppy a moment to realize the elf was an appliance character; in this case, the elf was converted into a lawnmower girl.
Poppy just gave her a pitying look and walked to the front door; High Elf Archer nodded her head in acceptance and went back to eating the tall grass. Poppy raised an eyebrow at the unfamiliar character implanted in the front door but still grabbed the door knocker in the poor feline girl’s mouth and knocked several times.
“I’ll be right there!” A male voice shouted from inside the house, the feline girl let out a muffled scream as electricity flowed through her and the electronic lock disengaged. The door swung inwards as a Prime Worlder with a beer belly opened the door. “What chu need?”
“Hi, I’m Poppy Gardner, I messaged you on EarthBook?” Poppy said as she tried not to grimace at the guy’s scent.
“Ay remember, y'all asked about my footstool,” the guy confirmed and moved out of the way to let the pair inside. The inside was better than what Poppy expected; there were beer and soda cans here and there but a maid and blonde mop girl were cleaning up. A mop girl was a character who got scrubs attached or implanted to their hands and knees and got a metal mop handle attached to a collar around their neck. The user would use the handle to guide the mop girl while they scrub the floor; occasionally they will shove the girl's face in the floor where they missed a spot.
“Ya have the...uhh seven hundred dollars?” Asked the Prime Worlder as they entered his living room. There Poppy saw several furniture girls about the room. There was a Shehulk chair, a Jirou Kyoka combined with a Circe from Generator Rex to form a sound system, a Livewire from DC lamp, and finally, Poppy’s goal, a Blackfire footstool situated in front of the She Hulk chair.
Blackfire did not look that great; her body was covered in bruises and whip marks. There were dark orange marks where the cuffs and attachments keeping her locked in the footstool position and footstool frame were too tight. Scaring where she rubbed her skin raw trying to struggle free. Blackfire’s expression was in a permanent glare as she looked at her owner.
“Seven hundred? We agreed on four!” Poppy argued.
“Well ay done got ta a-thinkin', and ay done thought about why you’ll want such an awful old thing so ay done looked at y'all's posts,” he explained. “Y'all want her faw y'all's brother’s wedding ta dat damn character.” Yoko tensed while Poppy glared at the man through her sunglasses.
“And what does have to do with our deal,” Poppy asked as she warily looked for the exits in case this was a Prime Purity Movement ambush. She started using her inherited ability from Daisy with a twist to feel for friendly mushrooms and fungi. Poppy made a connection to mold under the house right as the man spoke up.
“Ay don’t like the idea of someone marrying their property; it’s unnatural,” the man said as he slapped the tits of the She Hulk chair, who barely even reacted. “Property is ta be used, not loved. So faw me ta go along with this, y'all need-ta up the offer.”
The guy suddenly got real close to Poppy and Yoko and started moving his hands towards them perversely. “Av course, if y'all was ta sweeten the deal, I’ll accept the four hundred.”
(Flashback end)
“Anyways, if James wants an elf who knows archery or a Livewire, let me know,” Poppy said as she opened the door to the furniture door. “I acquired them and I’m not sure I want them around.” Walking inside, the group first noticed...
