Flame thrower

The flame thrower may be for groups of enemies, but works well against a single one too. The only disadvantage is that you can’t see anything once the fire starts. But this is worth it. You focus on the runes and let the magic flow, like you did it so often during your lessons. A circle of red light appears in your hand and the runes you think about rush through it. It is, honestly, a very simple and unprecise spell.

The last rune appears and the circle goes. You quickly close your fist to keep the flames from coming too early. It chimera is now running towards you to kill you. You wait for a second to let is come close enough. Then you raise your fist, aim and open it. An inferno of hot fire shoots out of your hand. Bright and hot like the sun.

The feeling of this raw power is overwhelming. You barely notice the horrified scream. It only takes a few seconds until the flames stop. The result is heavy. About three meters of the forest floor are burned to a black mess. The chimera lies behind it on the ground and smokes a little. But after a second of hoping it stands up again. It was able to jump back in time and only got a few burned pieces of fur. The fight is not won. The chimera growls angry and starts running towards you again.

You could try it again, but this would just burn your mana reserve until you are defenseless. You need to try something else. You still can try the fireballs or the flame whip.
