First Tenets of the Dyed

Ruby moves over to the couch, sitting next to her roommate and offering the last bit of the blunt. "All right Lillian, let's get some basic beliefs out of the way. The main personal philosophy is that hair dye brings out the true self. Fits in line with our Children of Pastel thing."

"Yeah, that's a great idea..." Lillian trails off as she writes it into the Book. "Going along with the theme of being true to yourself," she continues to write the next tenet.

As their hair reveals the self, the Dyed shall not hide or be ashamed of who they are from the world.

Ruby read the page over Lillian's shoulder. "Ok, preaching a little bit of self acceptance, I like it." Her phone buzzes. "Oh that's Kate, she's on her way. Let's end this here and clean up a bit for her."

The two set about cleaning the apartment, disposing of the ashes and clearing the smoke from their afternoon. Lillian put the Book of the Dyed on her desk for later just as Kate entered the apartment.

Lillian watched her roommates kiss in the doorway, before they move into the kitchen to prepare dinner. Ruby with her short blue hair and loud patterned shirt, was quite the contrast with her girlfriend's long, wavy brown locks and professional blouse and skirt.

She only wore that for work, as a secretary for a law firm she had to look "ready to go to court at any minute" according to her boss. That also led to her dyeing her natural dirty blonde hair to a uniform brown, to get more respect from her coworkers. Kate could really use the whole 'don't hide your true self' shit from the cult, Lillian decided. On her days off, she tends to wear trendy, flashy clothing and show off more skin, especially on a summer day like today.

Dinner was quick, and the conversation mostly centered around Kate's job. The couple weren't done eating by the time Lillian had to go to her own job. She grabs her helmet and waves goodbye before heading down to where her scooter is parked.
