Elderly woman asks for help
Clara freezes in panic, convinced she's been caught. But the woman simply smiles politely and peers at her with a puzzled expression.
"Sorry my dear, I'm looking for peppers for a recipe and I've left my glasses somewhere."
Without her glasses on, her vision is too blurry to make out what Clara is wearing...or rather, not wearing.
Clara: So...can you see..me right now?
Elderly woman: It's very blurry.
Relieved, Clara awkwardly shuffles sideways.
Clara: I can see some peppers there.
Keeping the vegetables held tightly in front of herself, while pointing to what the lady needs.
The elderly shopper continues looking around the fruit display, seemingly unaware that anything unusual is happening.
Elderly woman: You couldn't reach up for it, I've got a hip.
Clara weighs her options and looks around to see if the coast is clear. Not wanting to expose herself. She bags up the pepper for her and hands it to her. Clara dares to think she has escaped another embarrassing encounter.
Elderly woman: Aww thank you dearie.
Clara: You're welcome, but I'd better be going. Bye...
Then the woman pats her pocket discovers her glasses.
"Oh there's my glasses, honestly, lose my head some days.
She slips them on and looks up again.
Clara lets out a tiny gasp and turns on her heel. She hurries away down the aisle as fast as she can. Watching the flustered young woman disappear around the corner, wondering if she had really just seen what she thought she had. "Oh my word!"
