Chapter 403 by Jpyric Jpyric

Minutes turn to hours, hours to days, days to weeks, weeks to months, months to years.

Time continues on, children grow, more are born. The family grows, in many ways.

Maya dedicates herself to her daughters, her memories of her mother driving her desire to be there for every second of their lives. The eldest children, they are lavished with love from everyone, especially the girls that cannot have children themselves. In addition to raising her daughters, she focuses on her new divine responsibilities, and takes them as seriously as she does most things, which is to say not that seriously. Striving to help those that truly need it regardless, she will blow off frivolous requests and dedicate extra time to more serious ones. Despite her somewhat unserious nature, she is still wildly popular among the people.

Anna became pregnant once again, and seems to have equated motherhood with serving you. Shortly after the second child is born, a boy who she names Travis, she starts hinting that there could be more in the future. Some of the others tease her for her seeming desire to be pregnant, and the petite maid simply smiles and replies, "I serve my master!"

Elys loves Maya's children as if they were her own, and any time the dragon girl is away from you, the gorgon is by her side. They are a pair as much as anyone in the family, and even as Maya grows closer with others, Elys grows closer to her. With an incredible lack of jealousy, you become something of a known trio, with many people seeing Maya as the focus of the whole group, which isn't far from the truth. Elys never shows any desire towards pregnancy, but showers love on all the children in the family.

Lynn finds her niche in her role as deity of the downtrodden and abandoned. Far more than the other girls, she allows her responsibilities to guide her daily life. Even so, she finds time to be a devoted mother to her adorable little goblin girl, and always has time for you. She never gives up her optimism, and affection from you and the rest of the family never fails to fluster her. Everyone agrees that Lynn is a pure hearted girl, and agrees to protect her at all costs.

Sadie is Sadie. Her role as a deity never changes her, and she continues to float through life as she always has. Always happy, she spends her day bringing happiness to others, whether they want it or not. Perhaps the most surprising thing is that she has a way with children. All the little ones adore her, seemingly from the day they are born. Perhaps less surprising is the fact that she adores them in return, and she will spend hours each day simply playing with them.

Kali finishes her pregnancy, giving birth to twins, a boy and a girl, both angelic like her. The boy she names Darius, and he has blonde hair and blue eyes, unlike his sister Erika, who has red hair like their mother, and vibrant green eyes. Kali is ecstatic, throwing herself into motherhood. She adores them, and you, more every day. As goddess of life, her popularity among the people grows as well, becoming second only to Maya in the eyes of the people.

Samara as well gives birth, though only to one child, a girl who she names Evelyn. When asked about the name, she smiles down at the child, who looks like a tiny version of her but with black hair instead of white, and simply says that it was a family name. Despite her role as goddess of death, Samara is a popular figure as well, her surprisingly gentle demeanor dispelling much of the fear normally associated with her title. Additionally, she becomes a go between with the undead, aiding their kingdom in assimilating with the rest of the empire.

Rachel falls into her role as goddess easily, claiming it’s not much different from her role in the AWIO, just bigger. She also gives birth to a boy, a blonde haired, brown eyed child named Michael. Like the others, she falls into a mothering role easily, though her divine status makes this unsurprising.

Clarissa seems to flourish in her godly position, her status as forge goddess extending to most creative works. Far from being a chore, the transformed dwarf delights in the projects it involves her in. She gives birth as well, surprisingly to a boy, a dwarf with brown hair and grey-blue eyes. Most startling is his skin, which is slate grey, like stone. She names him Duron, a traditional dwarven name.

Yura seemed to revel in her divine role as well, though as usual, you would hardly tell by her reactions. However, as a mother she opens up, making the effort to smile and show happiness for little Etta. Despite her quiet, emotionless demeanor, her daughter adores her, and they quickly become inseparable.

True to her word, Uzume becomes the favorite aunt to all the children, and spends all her time playing with them. Despite her size, none of the children show any fear of the lovable Oni, and she is a perfect playmate, indulging in anything they want to do. Her role as war goddess is rarely seen, with the newfound peace in the realm.

Reika follows Elys’ lead, deciding not to have children, though she seems happy devoting herself to the family as a whole. She is clearly ecstatic to have somewhere to belong, and never stops smiling around the family. Her feeling of not belonging fades, and is replaced by the simple satisfaction of family.

As for yourself, between running an empire, being a father, and keeping smiles on the girls faces in other ways, your days are full. And you wouldn’t trade any of it for anything. You’ve found your place, an happiness is your reward.

The journey was long and rocky, but now you’re home.
