Ali's mouth hung wide open as she looked at the room.
She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
Gambit's Death persona was back!
It was the last sight on Earth that she wanted to see.
Even worse she saw the doctor on the floor, clearly having been fucked by Death.
The doctor had a look on her face that could best be described as a mixture of shock and satisfaction.
"Well, Ali, it's nice to see you again." Death said with a big grin on his face.
For Dazzler, the feeling was not a mutual one.
She'd buried her feelings about what had happened in Limbo as soon as that mission was done.
After all, he'd corrupted her and she spend most of her time down there his loyal servant (one who constantly seemed to be hanging off of him).
It was a time that she'd prefer not to remember, but she couldn't ignore that anymore now that she was face to face with him.
"C'mon, Dazzler, aren't you happy to see me?" He asked her.
"Not at all, but if you're here, then I might as well stop you before you go any further." She declared, taking a fighting stance.
Death sighed, he had a feeling that she wouldn't give in immediately, but he still wasn't happy being forced to waste time with her.
He looked her right in the eyes, pulled out a card and began to charge it.
Suddenly, Dazzler felt something weird inside of her.
She felt like she was slowly becoming corrupted again, just by him charging that card.
Even worse, Ali started remembering how good it had felt to be corrupted by Death the first time.
Which mean that she felt the urge to simply give in.
But Dazzler was, first and foremost, a hero.
So ,she knew that she had to shake off that feeling and save both the Doctor and Gambit.
Sure, that was easier said than done, but Dazzler knew that she had to use all her inner will to stave the corruption off.
On top of that saving Gambit from Death was going to be a very tall order, so she'd need help for that.
Still, priority #1 was to get the doctor out of there, before anything else.
Ali hit Death with a blast of light, catching him off guard and briefly causing him to stop focusing on corrupting her and then she leapt to grab the doctor.
Unfortunately for her, the doctor grabbed her first.
Ali cursed herself as she realized that the doctor had already been corrupted.
Something that she should have taken into account from the moment she realized what had happened.
In fact, she couldn't believe that she hadn't realized it sooner.
She had walked into a trap.
She immediately began to struggle to break free, but the Doctor Dovercourt had an iron grip.
Dazzler had to think fast, because if she didn't she'd end up just like the Doctor.
Especially because the longer she was there, the more chance she'd end up totally corrupted.
She had to figure out some kind of way out and she had to get in contact with the X-Men quickly.
