Damian woke up in class as Monika. (Instant change.)

"Mmm..."

"Monika? Hey! Monika wake up!"

"Hm...?"

Damian groaned, lifting his head up. He scrunched his brows, the light assaulting his vision. He was in a classroom from the looks of it. He must've fallen asleep on the desk during a class. But he was homeschooled by Alfred? What was he doing there?

"Good, you're awake!"

A girl with coral pink hair in a messy bob cut with a red bow smiled at her. She wore a grey blazer, white under-shirt, brown vest, blue skirt, and stockings. Where had she seen that uniform before?

"Oh my god..."

Damian looked down, seeing he wore a matching outfit to the girl before him. Except his hair was in a long ponytail and... was his hair always coral brown? No, it was supposed to be black! And father would never let him grow it out this long! He poked one of the bra cups resting under his blouse, feeling the foreign presence of fleshy mounds. He... he wasn't a he at all anymore! She had boobs!

"Why am I wearing a skirt?"

Damian muttered as she stood up and tugged at the ends of it, already knowing the answer. Even her voice wasn't her own. She sounded like... like...

"What's wrong, Monika? The skirt is a part of our uniform... We wear it every school day..? Are you feeling alright?"

Sayori looked worried.

"Uh..."

Was she speaking to her? She went to correct her.

"I'm M̷̹̹̜̆̍̇͌̈́́̏̽͗̉̌̐ͅo̴̢̤̖̜̣͍͚̻͇̘̗̳̖̿͐͆͋͑͊n̸̺͎̝̟̦̒͜į̸̞͊̂͑̓ͅk̶͖̪̆̅̾́͐̃̃͗̈͝͝a̶̘̺͛̿̿̃́̆̾̿͊͋̐̕͝. I mean... what?"

Why couldn't she say her real name?

In a panic, she waved her hand, drawing a crescent shape in the air but the in-game menu didn't pop up that time.

She swallowed hard.

"Of course you're Monika, silly! Come on, we're gonna be late to the literature club meeting."

"Hold on, I don't even know you."

"Huh? What do you mean? I'm Sayori. We're best friends. I'm your Vice President for the literature club? Are you sure you don't need to see the school nurse?"

"That's right. Sorry, Sayori. I don't know what came over me."

Monika's lips moved though she didn't will them too. She even smiled at her friend reassuringly.

That time she spoke exactly like... like Monika. The girl from before. Her memory of encountering her was fuzzy but she recalled the gist of what happened. She must have inserted her into the game in her place. Was that even possible? Clearly this wasn't the doing of father's coding, but rather... a rogue AI? Could a video game character even become self aware?

"Heheh! It's alright, Monika. Well, we don't wanna be late! That would be a bad example for the other girls."

Sayori took Monika by her wrist and led her out of the classroom. She guided her through the halls and passed droves of other students wearing similar uniforms. Eventually the two approached a set of doors, Sayori propping one open for the Club President.

"Hey everyone! We're here!"

Sayori beamed.

Monika furrowed her brows. There were only two other girls present.

"Where is everyone?"

"What do you mean? This is everyone. Me, you, Yuri, and Natsuki."

She gestured to the short girl with the pink twin tails and the tall older looking girl with the long purple hair.

Natsuki...

Wasn't that the girl the real Monika mentioned?

"For the last time. MANGA IS NOT LITERATURE!"

Natsuki raised her squeaky voice, only coming off as cute rather than intimidating.

"Books that are more pictures than words do not count."

Yuri calmly and succinctly replied.

"But they're still BOOKS aren't they?!"

"Girls, girls, please. This isn't the fight club. This is the literature club."

Sayori intervened.

Monika sighed. There were a billion things she'd rather be doing than babysit some bratty high school girls. She was raised by assassins. The heir to the Demon's Head was far too detached from her own generation to care about these girls' petty squabbles. Or their dumb club. She just needed to figure out a way to outsmart this Monika AI and delete her for good. Then she'd let father know his simulations were faulty and she'd resort to physical training exclusively from now on.

"Fine..."

Yuri huffed quietly, folding her arms.

Natsuki rolled her eyes.

"So Monika. Whatcha got planned for us today, anyway?"

"I'm so glad you asked!"

Monika spoke without willing it.

"It may seem kind of dumb, but how about we each write a poem and share it with the group tomorrow? Sound good?"

"I think that's a great idea!"

Sayori grinned.

Monika sighed. Not only was she in Monika's body, but she was being **** by the game's programming to act the part too. To add insult to injury the real Monika was going to have her write some pointless poems. She was probably laughing at her doppleganger from her little pocket dimension right now.

"Sounds fun. In the mean time, I think I'll catch up on my reading."

Yuri tapped her novel.

"And I'll go read some of my MANGA."

Natsuki shot a look at the taller girl.

With that, Natsuki went to the back of the room by the closet and Yuri sat at a desk quietly reading. Sayori sat at the far desk away from everyone. Some club this was. Everyone broke off to do their own thing. She wasn't exactly a socialite, but how was this fun?
