Coming up with a plan

It didn't take the pair long to return from their shopping trip. Even if thoughts of frustration still hung tight within Carla's minds. While she knew it wasn't May's fault in the slightest, that didn't change the fact that it happened.

"So..." May started and watched Carla take a seat. Letting out a sigh, she did her best to focus on May. Even if the temptation to say something mean was very much there. "Do you want to be an elderly mother?"

Her words rolled out, Carla letting out a sigh. On one hand, they had the operation already done and the clothes bought. But this was in no way what she had wanted.
