Who came by next?

Certain caped pursuer

Chapter 4 by agraol

I never did get the nerve to message Jinx, just the introduction she sent to herself

You

Thank you for allowing me to talk to you, you beautiful, smart goddess

She was a little... conceited? Not really, she had what to be proud of. Self-assured?. Maybe

While I was staring at the empty chat, I saw Jinx start to write.

The Lucky Goddess

. . .

Yes, she had saved herself like that in my contacts.

The Lucky Goddess

Oh, thank you, its nice to be appreciated like that.
I told you to message me you doofus

The Lucky Goddess

. . .

It wasn't even that long since she broke into my room, she had come in when I was having my lunch, and now it was evening on the same day.

And so imagine my surprise when i heard a knock. From the window.

I froze. Didn't think it was Jinx again, I was sure she wouldn't knock.

Then the knock came again.

I armed myself with some courage and approached the window.

"Wh.. Wh... Who is it?" I said some courage, leave me alone.

"It's titan Raven. I need you to answer some questions citizen ... if you may"

What. The actual. Fuck. Was my room some sort of meta-human meeting point now?

"Uh... Eeeh, sure. Come in" This time I unlocked the window myself, and opened it up. My visitor seemed to realize that it was not that easy to fit into a tiny window, unlike my previous invader had. Said invader lacked some of the attributes this one apparently had. She struggled to fit, even as she was floating. She actually floated through the fucking window.

By the way, I never knew fucking Raven was so... voluptuous. That damn cape hid a lot apparently.

She stood in front of me, watching me watching her. Shit

"Can I offer you anything? There's .... water. Tap water. And coffee. The grounds are a bit stale though" I caught myself before offering anything else. I literally had nothing to offer.

She seemed temporarily baffled by my comment, and turned her head briefly like a confused dog. She was rather petite, I think the cameras add a couple of centimeters.

" I appreciate your offer, but it is unnecessary, I don't need to eat in general. I just need your cooperation in a rather important matter" She drawled on in her distinctive monotone voice. Her face hinted at none of her emotions right now. "Where you in your apartment around noon today?" She kept staring at me with her dead fish eyes.

"Yeah, I've been here all day" She looked around with a little bit of judgment. It wasn't really neat "I was laid off a couple of days ago..." She just raised an eyebrow at me. Not even a little bit of empathy on this gal.

"I was chasing a criminal through the alley outside your window, and lost her trace around this area. I've now come back retracing my steps and found traces of her essence in this same window" While she talked, she started walking around the room, or well, the little walk there was. She seemed to be looking at something invisible. To me at least.

"Was she here?" She looked directly at me again this time. She had stopped in from of my bed, were i was sitting ( the only place left to sit beside the floor) Right in front of me.

I had to stop and think now. I really couldn't tell her the truth. I knew what Jinx getting her hands in my phone was really about. She could've done anything to it, I was sure it must be bugged right now. If i tattled, she could find out and track me instantly. I was keeping quiet.

"I don't know wha...." Before I could finish my excuse, I was suddenly suspended in the air by my shirt. She hadn't even grabbed me, I was just held by a bunch of shadow. Raven's powers were Scary.

"DON'T. LIE TO ME! I can feel her energy here!" shit. monotone Raven was menacing. Angry Raven? I almost pissed my pants. Her eyes flashed red and one could almost hint at a couple of fangs showing through her snarling mount. She had dragged me right next to her face, and I could smell some lavender scent she had on her. Maybe her shampoo?

"I .. I ... I don't feel safe right now." My feet where dangling on the air, the collar of my shirt was cutting off some of my breathing. I felt somewhat good that I could stand for myself a for a change.

She seemed to compose herself somewhat, and took a deep breath. Then, she frowned a bit, and sniffed a bit.

Slowly, I was put down, back into the bed. The caped hero closed her eyes, filled her lungs again and exhaled.

"I apologize. I shouldn't have lost my composure with you. I understand I ask something unreasonable of you" Raven took another breath, and she almost seemed to lean closer to me while she did.

"Jinx brings trouble with her where she goes, and I know she was around here. Were she to come again, I recommend you vacate the premises for a while, for misfortune could be following her"

She faced towards the windows for a moment, until she seemed to remember her great entrance, blushed and headed towards the door. "I can let myself out. Thank you for your time" The titan stopped for a second. and offered me a card. "Where you to need assistance in ... related issues" She then glared at me "Don't go spreading this number around. Or Ill know who did it" She then phased through the door. I was left wondering why she bothered to knock then. Maybe heroes are more ... polite than villains.

Raven the titan had left me her contact info. Huh. If I had a coin for every time a meta human left me her number I'd have two coins.... and you know.

Finally, I could read up the messages Jinx had sent me

The Lucky Goddess

A.N: I'm gonna be taking some inspiration in Silently Watches' (and others) versions of Raven, an leaning more towards her demonic parentage. I feel this will make the story more interesting. So if some affirmation doesn't match the comics, or the TT series, or anything else... bull. Same goes for other characters.
