Celebrate your first event!

After the social event was completed, the event planners celebrated their success.

"To Hans! Our missing comrade! Congrats on getting accepted!" Shane laughed while clapping him on the back.

Hans and Kokoro raised their drinks in the air and cheered along with two other colleagues. They were still at work, so their only choices were soft drinks and iced tea.

The small startup company only had four employees- five if you included their boss. They were split up into pairs. Hans worked with Kokoro as the first team, and their second composed up of Shane and Samantha. Each of them had different skills that helped contribute to the project success.

"We've been working as a team of three for the past month. The pay isn't exactly industry standard, mostly because we're new." Samantha explained.

"I figured. New businesses have it hard." Hans nodded.

That was because the Venus Islands were a competitive place. Everyone competed to survive and only those that clicked became successful.

"So, did you also choose to work here because of our boss?" Shane asked.

"Our boss?"

Was he talking about that cold beauty? Hans admitted that Elise would've been a target for him if not for circumstances. Seducing your boss was the fastest way to get fired.

"Yeah, she was formerly one of the Venus Island admins. She lost the position though and got replaced. I joined because I knew she was capable." Shane explained.

Hans wanted to continue asking about their boss, but he caught the troubled look Kokoro had.

"Looks like I picked a good job then." Hans nodded when Kokoro looked at him.

"Cheers, and good luck to us."
