What can wear out Hyper Mai?

Bzzzzzap!

Looking anywhere for something to wear out Mai I saw something that had to have been out of pure serendipity, just outside of the arcade there was a sign advertising a team co-op Laser Tag game starting in five minutes. It only took a second to convince Mai of my idea and explain the concept, after all she seemed just about ready for anything that didn't take too long which, I suppose, was part of the sugar high. It only took three minutes to sign up and luckily enough we were put on different Teams, my team being green and Mai's being, rather hilariously, red.

The game started off with two teams on opposite sides of a football sized obstacle course, something I didn't even notice before but nothing I was knocking considering that this was my one and only chance to get Mai worn down before I went insane. With my group on one side and hers on the other we heard the count down, the voice over the loud speakers feeding us the staring bell and sending many of my men to their doom.

Sure enough, as I had come to expect of Mai and her ridiculously good accuracy many of the green team fell beneath her hyperactive tread, her footwork was just too fast and her skill with a laser gun was almost as accurate as her work with knives. However, I was pretty fortunate that I was able to avoid most of the interactions with her, my strategy of dodging and weaving between obstacles giving me an advantage against the normal red players.

As if destiny had placed it, we found ourselves as being the only two left in the game, my shadowy hiding strategy battling her speed and accuracy. It was a tense game near the end, my laser gun at the cocked and ready as Mai jumped from obstacle to obstacle...how she was able to do that I will never know but I did know that these bots seemed to thrive when given sugar. As for myself I spent most of the final moments hiding in the shadows of the obstacles, playing like a squirrel in a tree and being on the exact opposite side of Mai whenever she was around.

However, the longer the game went on the longer I came to realize that Mai had been boxing me in, tricking me to back further and further into a corner the longer the game went on. While my strategy was good in theory, against Mai it was useless. It was because of this that I found myself with my back to the wall, my brightly glowing green chest spot the only light illuminating my body as Mai's own crimson orb drew closer, a sly smile on her lips as she raised her gun.

"This was fun John...but I think I..." Mai began her confidence suddenly wavering a bit as she wove on unsteady feet. Suddenly, Mai let out a large yawn, her normally bored eyes slowly closing as she gently lay on the ground, her sugar high running out and her body falling into a deep sleep...well I suppose that ended that...

What now?
