Accept Quest 2

((Choose a party of two members. When you're finished, use "Set Forth." If you make a mistake, use "Previous Chapter." If you choose the same party member more than once, it'll count as a party member without giving you anyone extra... so don't do that!))

Given that being on your team would mean partying and merry-making with you, the new squire, at a new town festival and the alternative would be little more than a routine patrol, it wasn't surprising to see most of the saintesses throw their figurative hats in the ring to be picked.

“If spies still have you suspicious, or sorcery has you scared, I am the salve to sedate you,” Amulette offered, tipping her hat up. As a former demon spy herself, and a magician besides, her experience would likely be a boon in the context of the night parade. On the other hand, even despite her sainted status, you might find yourself having to explain to the guards all night that she isn’t a suspicious individual herself.

“A-As a member of the church, it might make sense for me to participate in the parade. I feel that the more of a direct hand the church of Geod has in the event, the better,” Rosary offered. “Even if I myself would feel a bit… out of place in the festivities…”

Belit grinned and threw one arm around your shoulder. “That's why I ought to be attending instead, Vin! I'll be right at home with all that wine and merriment, heh heh. Probably a great many overweight purses that could use lightening too. You can leave every part of this to me, buddy.”

“Dancing in the streets? There could be no better place for Bangaal! You will see, Lavender Vin, that this mission suits her to a tee!” Bangaal pitched in, showing you a few moves and clinking her rings. She had a point. This was a unique situation where she could behave however she wanted without making an unwanted scene. “Allow Bangaal to show the magic peddlers of this parade what the truest form of magic looks like!”

Liens looked up from her book and scowled, noticing you look in her direction. “Huh? Me? I'm not a dancer. Forget it. I mean. My inventions could be useful here for protecting you if you get into trouble. But I've got no interest in the parade. I'm not religious or pagan. I'm basically agnostic,” she grumbled, rolling her eyes before returning to her reading. “And there’s no way you’re making me wear some stupid costume.”

Helmid smiled sympathetically. “Pay her no mind. I'm sure Miss Liens will assist you if you need it. For my part, I'd also be happy to attend. Whoever joins you will be costumed appropriately and will be tasked with merry-making and debasing themself in the streets, playing along with the saucy banter of the night, and… ahem… never mind. Placing that aside, I could be your stalwart shield if you find yourself in danger,” she suggested, pressing one fist to her chest with a confident expression and burying any undue excitement she might have towards being made to dress up and dance in a crowd.
