Chapter 13 by Hegemon1984 Hegemon1984

What happens next?

Boss Battle

“Is this the lady causing all the fuss?” A well-dressed gentleman, late 50s, sporting a black-over-red suit, comes into the scene.

The rebels halt, saluting the gentleman, without furthering their advance. His expensive, shiny shoes click against the dirt as he approaches the green woman. She glares daggers at him, her flesh intermingled with sweat and blood, sword drawn at her side.

“FREE. ADAM.” she commands in a low growl.

“Oh, yes, your dearly beloved human. I’m afraid I can’t do that, my dear. You see, we still have many, many things to learn from him. That…” he motions his hands at the growing inferno behind the green woman, the blazing carriage fire spread, engulfing a few hovels in flames. In addition, the bodies of men litter the battlefield like flies, “… and the fact you murdered my men.”

He sighs, unbuttoning his suit jacket before tossing it unceremoniously onto the dirty village road beneath him.

“You know what they say: If you want to do something right, do it yourself.”

The man closed his eyes, as radiant purple aura engulfed his body - magic. His dress shirt peeled away, muscle and sinew bursting and expanding, bones in his face, his skull cracking and separating and changing, the gargling scream never ending, only shifting in pitch and tempo.

“You…”

It rose, smoky wisps of blood burning on his hide, over the play of huge, impossibly developed slabs of muscle.

“Will…”

Gigantic arms spread wide, the monstrous form raising it’s head and baring large, bloodstained teeth, arcs of electricity and the air shimmering around it’s body, the chemical energy bleeding through the pores of it’s skin.

“... PAY!!”

The green woman readied her blade - eyes trained on the metamorphizing abomination, clutching the hilt of her sword. She brought the sharpened edge up at eye level, going into a combat stance.

The monster attacked first, shooting out a massive hand, but not fast enough. She rolled out of the way, as the entity encased one of the rebel’s head in a vise, powerful blood slick flesh suffocating, then a sound like an eggshell breaking, the massive hand crushing the skull, brains and dark syrupy blood oozing through between the thing’s fingers before the corpse is thrown carelessly away.

After rolling over, she landed behind him, quickly pistoning her broadsword to stab him in the back. The entity screamed, as the green woman quickly removed her broadsword, jumping away from the entity’s back swing.

Then again. This time our heroine wasn’t so lucky. The green woman was launched off her feet, hurtling back and collided with the nearby building, smashing through brick, wood, and drywall. A cloud of smoke puffed through the hole. The entity grinned and slammed his fist into the ground, creating a shockwave that toppled the weakened structure, and the village hut collapsed on itself, burying the ogre under tons of brick and wood.

“NNNGHHH…” She moaned weakly to herself, fingers barely clutched onto her broadsword. Her vision was hazy, throwing doubles as the entity slowly walked toward her with two beady, menacing eyes.

This was not a fight she could win. Not alone.

Brute **** vs magic? C’mon. Gotta do better than that.

She closed her eyes, fists clenched as she managed to stagger up. Broadsword weakly held betwixt her fingers. No. The sword dropped, clanging onto the remnants of the village hut below.

The entity lifted both fists in the air, ready to haymaker the ogre into liquefied jelly.

Fortunately, the green woman leapt in the air, high over the haymaker’s path. The entity lifted his fists again, trying to catch her on the rebound, but the green woman was crouched low now, at the entity’s feet, and in a blur, her fists came out of nowhere.

The left fist slammed into the entity’s jaw, rocking his head back.

Boom.

The right fist, in an uppercut, catching the entity’s chin as the monster brought his head around to regard his opponent.

Boom.

The left, swinging wide, connected with the entity’s cheek, staggering him, the monster off balance.

Boom.

The right fist, another uppercut, rocking the entity the other way, a shard of tooth chipping off with the **** of the ogre’s blows.

Boom.

The entity staggered, grinning. “Finished, girl? My turn.”

A massive fist rocketed into the green woman’s face, breaking her nose. Her vision bloomed with white hot pain.

Another fist smashed into her sternum, cracking her ribs, lifting her off her feet.

And a massive blow down over her head, the entity’s hands clasped together like a hammer, knocked the green woman to the ground, **** on her own blood.

The rebels laughed as the ogre toppled over, dazed and **** at their master’s feet.

The green woman’s fingers flexed, hoping to find purchase on something - anything! She couldn’t end up like this, not without the love of her life in the balance. Her dripping wet, bloody fingers searched the dirty floor, just as…

The entity knelt down to the ogre, and picked her up by the throat. “I haven’t gotten my hands dirty in a long, long time. Taking the life of a monster girl. It’s liberating, you see. And for that, I truly thank y--”

A broadsword arced out and sank deeply into the entity’s throat, plunging through muscle and sinew, before tearing open a gory hole through the top of his cranium. He did not see the green woman before it was too late. His eyes glazed over, final memories caught between his egoistical ramblings before eternal darkness. His grasp loosened, slumping over with a loud thud.

The magic encasing his body faded away, blood seeping from his ruined skull onto the rising ogre. He returned back into his human form, motionless.

The end?
