Chapter 5 Ends. What happens next?
Back to the police station
Katherine Warren, a vampire he encountered at the gas station, is back for more blood. There’s another horrific monster roaming in the station, too. Leon tries his best to focus on the mission, rather than his fate which will be worse than ****.
Chapter 6 - Footsteps Of The Tyrant
“Hello? Claire, are you there?” After going back the garage, Leon tried to reach Claire, but only silence responded. He was hoping that it was because there was no signal underground, rather than something bad has happened to her.
The FBI agent, Ada as she introduced herself, was nowhere to be found. It seemed once again he had to face all the dangers alone. Hope you’re save with Sherry, Claire...He sighed helplessly and walked towards the door at the northeast corner.
Behind the door was a hallway, which could lead to several rooms in this section. A heavy steel door at the end of the hallway was locked due to power shortage. According to the map on the wall, there was a generator placed at the other room. That was his next target.
He carefully searched the firing range for ammo, without alerting the dormant vampires in the shooting ground. Going through the vampire dogs infested kennel, he used the square crank to lift the shutter, and successfully reached the generator room to restart the power.
On the way back, luckily, he saw all the vampire dogs still growling inside their cages. He took a closer look at one of them and noticed that, unlike the vampires that maintained their physical form, the dog had underwent necrosis all over their skins and muscles. The virus must have had different reactions to non-human creatures.
Going through the heavy door, he climbed up the stairs and found himself back in the police station, just in front of the break room. He took a deep breath as he realized that the tentacle monster might be still lurking around. There was actually nothing he could do but to be more vigilant.
The clock tower was on the third floor of the station, and the one way he knew that could get there was in the library. However, the last time he tried to go there, the floor crashed. When he was thinking about other ways, the bookshelves came to his mind. Had he found a mechanic jack handle to lower the bookshelves, he could mobilize them to make a platform for him to go through.
“Great. Another puzzle.” He shook his head helplessly.
In front of the fire safety door, he saw office Elliot, who had only the upper half of his body and still turned, howling in pain on the floor. He was the first police office Leon met in the R.P.D., and one of many that Leon couldn’t save tonight.
“I’m sorry...” In grief, He fired at Elliot and laid him to rest.
The east hallway was crawling with vampires. It would be unwise for him to get past them with the remaining silver bullets he had. The door to the fire escape was unlocked, as he believed by Claire, so that could probably lead him to the second floor. Between a dozen of hungry vampires and the fire, what he would choose was clear.
It was raining even harder now. That actually helped contain the fire on the second floor, limiting it to the helicopter wreck, so it was safe for Leon to traverse.
Opening another shutter, he finally found another staircase which could lead him to the third floor. However, the door to the main hall in the east storage room was locked from the other side. “Damn it!” He punched at the shelf next to him. After a few seconds of trying to calm down, he turned back and kept searching.
Yet, bad luck was not done with him. While he was climbing down on a ladder, it broke without warning, and he fell to the balcony roof hard. Struggling from the pain, he stood up with his shaking legs. There was a door that would lead him back to the east hallway, second floor, but the burning helicopter has blocked the way. He tried to put out the fire by pulling the handle of the water valve, but the water flew another side.
“Claire, please...If you’re there...Jesus...” Still no one responded.
He sat on the wench for some rest in frustration, in this heavy rain. Staring blankly at the fire, he felt that he was on the edge of breaking down. Came to think of it, he hasn’t actually saved someone in this incident. The Arklay officer, Claire, Elliot, Marvin, Sherry, Ben...They all came and went, and he’s all alone at the end.
“Ada...” The face of the FBI agent flashed in his mind. She was strong, but also fragile at the same time. Her little smile was the sweetest thing he’s ever seen. He had to keep going to help her.
He stood up, with his eyes clear and steady. He has seen enough **** tonight. At least he had to save one.
Going down staircase behind the balcony, he found the boiler room, where a water flow controller was standing next to its door. Two vampires busted the door and tried to grab him, however, all were dealt with by silver bullets. Not only did he change the water flow, but he also found a club key in the boiler room, which meant that he could access to more locked rooms in the station.
The rain began to ease up. Leon returned to the roof and turned on the water flow to put out the fire of the helicopter. Now he might be able to crawl beneath it to go back into the station. However, when the fire was put out, with the fire alarm off, everything around was becoming much more quieter than before. And in that dead silence, he heard heavy footsteps, somewhere near.
“What the hell is that?” He didn’t think too much and went into the hallway.
And he froze at the scene.
A 9 feet tall giant humanoid creature, in a black coat and a hat, lifted up and tossed away the helicopter with a single hand. The black glove, with the scratches on it, made him realize that this was the monster that assaulted the jail and killed Ben. And its red eyes...When Leon gazed into its eyes, he felt like he was hit by an electric shock and could barely move.
“Jesus Christ!” Leon fought hard to regain control, backed up and returned to the roof, as Mr.X approached him deadpan.
Its heavy footsteps trembled the whole roof, making Leon hard to aim at it. But when he got the chance, he didn’t hesitate. The shot blasted its hat off and left a burning trail on its bald head. The silver bullet had effect on it but...couldn’t even pierce its skin? Leon gasped in horror.
Provoked by the shot, Mr.X walked much faster towards him. When its fist was about to land on him, Leon rolled to the side to dodge it, then straight up ran into the east hallway through the crash hole.
I need to hide...Leon kept gasping for air and running. He didn’t dare to slow down, as he heard the footsteps catching up from behind.
On his way to the clock tower

Welcome to the City of the Blood
This is an alternate universe of Resident Evil 2 (Remake) where most zombies/monsters are replaced by vampires or something that has vampiric traits. The main protagonists are Leon S.
