Chapter 5 by ShadeWriter ShadeWriter

What does Uraraka decide to do?

Back to the Dorms

"Hmm, no I really need to get back to study...., and it's not like it's DOING anything." Uraraka thought to herself as she stuffed the book into her bag. At worst it was some sort of Tool the woman had made or designed to help with her powers. And the police knew how to contact her if it came up in questioning. So it wouldn't be a problem if she held onto it for safe keeping right?

"Yes, that makes sense! Besides, I can call Momo if something goes wrong." Uraraka thought as she quickly made her way back to her room. All the while not noticing the chuckling coming from her backpack.

Much like her dorm at U. A. High, Uraraka's room was pretty sparse. A mix of furgal living and meager wages. Empty walls, simple bed, refurbished desk from a friend, TV from a garage sell, used books, small fridge; it all worked for her though. It was simple living anyway, enough to get by and more importantly keep her humbled. Last thing she wanted to do was getting a big head over heroing.

"Alright, Let's start studying!" she thought to herself as she made herself at home. She had a test coming in a few days to be ready for, an oral presentation as part of her Public Speaking course. She had most the presentation written and planned out, she just needed to practice it. After getting a small meal; Uraraka started to get everything in place to give her presentation. It was on the effects of Quirk Bullying, with both Deku and Bakugo having given their own interviews for her use on the subject. It wasn't just about looking down on the Quirkless, rare as those were becoming, but also the mocking of 'lesser Quirks', something that was becoming more and more prominent which each generation compounding and merging Quirks.

She had worked herself up to the point she was so into her practiced speech that she almost tripped over her bag. Something she was sure she had moved out of the way, odd that. While Uraraka was able to keep herself from falling, the **** of hitting the bag with her shin cause it to fall over and spill out it's contents. "Clumsy clusmy... ah... well." Uraraka thought as she bent down to pick up the books and small items.

It was then she noticed that one book again. She'd been so caught up on her practice she hadn't remembered it till now. "Well.... I could use a break." She thought, moving over to her desk and flipping the book open again.

Just as she remembered it, largely blank. The book was rather thick, almost like a text book, but only had two pages that had anything not worthy on it. There were a couple pages with scribbled in notes like "They're REAL" or "Magic EXISTS" or rather ramshackled attempts to copy the two main pages. She did find a page that seemed to be the instructions.

"Read the name... and they'll come. Hmmm....," Uraraka muttered as she shifted a bit in her chair, "Voice activation? And she says they will.... do whatever the holder of the tome wants. 'They seem much more real than my own shadows... but also more rebellious? They don't seem to like me that much but so long as they do what I want and they find it Fun, we're in agreement...' and... the rest is just her tirade about making people pay for all the bullying...." the hero sighed. Well if anything she could use today as another source for her presentation.

The more detailed pages had what looked to be a detailed character sheet or even possibly a hero report. It detailed the name, strengths, weakness and other bits of info about two different names, Sae and Rinia. It was odd that they were listed at half her height though. What sort of game where they made for?

Sae appeared to be a more 'warrior' styled character, akin to a Viking or Berserker. It seemed like the character could use Ice to make large blunt weapons or send waves of cold crashing into foes. The short blurb sold her as a sweet but stern girl. "Oh... maybe like Momo?" Uraraka thought.

Rinia in contrast was described as a more 'healer' character. Using plants and light magic to defend and heal. Apparently she was a massive cheerful and sweet girl who knew how to cook. "OH she sounds like Toru Hagakure." she thought, remembering her friend. Last she heard, she'd been offered to do some spy work but she wasn't sure if Toru was going to accept or not. She was currently in town, maybe a visit would be nice to catch up.

Still if saying the name meant they would come...., nah. That couldn't be real... could it? "Well.... it could be fun to just pretend." Uraraka muttered as she flipped back and forth between the the two pages. Or she could just go back to practicing her speech but what was the harm in saying a name for made up magic.

Sae or Rinia though...., or both?

What name does Uraraka say?

More fun
