Arrested

"I understand, Detective."

With that, Batgirl surrendered herself to the officers. They walked behind her, grabbing her wrists and cuffing them behind her back.

"Thank you for not making this more difficult than it has to be," replied Bullock.

"I only ask that my identity be protected and you allow me to help you find whoever is truly responsible for this," requested Batgirl.

"I can keep you safe tonight, but tomorrow you'll go to court and then everything is up to them."

Batgirl bowed her head as she was led to a waiting police van. She was pushed inside, watching helplessly as the doors slammed shut in her face.

The van began to drive away almost immediately, surely taking her to GCPD for more questioning. Her theory was correct, as they arrived to GCPD within minutes.

"Come with us, Batgirl," said an officer, grabbing her by the arm.

She stayed quiet, following them into the building and into an interrogation room. She patiently waited, with what seemed like hours passing before someone walked inside.

"Detective Bullock," she greeted, watching as he sat across from her.

"Batgirl. Look, it doesn't seem very good for you. So far, you're the only one we've been able to place at the scene of the crime, and the court is surely going to rule against you. I'm not sure I can help you."

"There must be something we can do, Detective. I can solve this, just let me out of here."

"You know I can't do that. I'm sorry."

Batgirl watched as Bullock left the room, leaving her alone. She was seemingly heading to court tomorrow, with things not looking good at all.
