An Odd Encounter!

Leocadio Smith kicked the stone in front of his shoe. His Pokégear vibrated in his khaki's, and with a huff, he flipped it open. His mother calling. Damnit. Doubtlessly, he'd be burning minutes by taking the call, but he answered nonetheless.

"Leo - sweetie, how's your training going?" His mother's sweet voice questioned.

Leo clenched his free fist. "I haven't caught anything yet. Part of me is wondering if father wasn't so truthful when he booked me this cruise." As if prepared from a script, his mother replied, chiming in to cease his doubts.

"Now dear, you know that isn't true! Your father and I are more than willing to support your desire to be a trainer. We just wanted you to be safe and...."

Leo's vacant look at the environ was rewarded when he saw...something descending the mountain. For now, it looked just like a little blip, but a little blip that was moving. How fascinating! He'd patrolled the vast mountain and encountered nothing more than wind and snow. Other than the innkeeper and his father's hired hands, Leocadio had been convinced he was alone on this island. Continuing to speak to his mother, Leo moved towards the moving blip.

His spirits were high, and for once, he didn't have a one-sided yelling match with his mother about his desire not to be a business man, but to be a Pokémon trainer!

Ash Ketchum felt pleasantly warm as he moved from the frozen hellscape that was the top of the mountain. Mere rocks and wind slowly turned into little shrubs, which then were bushes, which then became nice trees. He forgot that he was clad in a cosplayers rendition of a shiny lopunny, even with the large floppy ears sometimes hitting his side; the only annoying part of the outfit was the fact the boots were so thin. He could practically feel the stones of the decrepit pathway!

Eventually, there was no snow or wind, and Ash felt safe. He let his speed walk turn into a light trot. Hearing some noise up ahead, he prepared himself. Civilization! People!

Leo had continued chatting and surging forward. The blip had become a full sized creature now. It was evidently a Pokemon - that was certain by it's form. What type of Pokemon, he didn't quite know, but he was certain it had to be something unique. And intelligent, if it were descending the mountain.

"Mother, I'll have to let you go - duty calls." Leo said. If he was right, he'd be running into the creature just over this hill.

He readied his Quick Ball.

"Mother, I'll have to let you go - duty calls."

Those were the words Ash heard before he had ascended the hill.

Exciting! He readied his story as he crested the hill. However, it seemed he was too slow, as the tall young adult the voice seemed to belong to beat him to it. Ash went to speak, hoping to defuse the situation (he could imagine a human weirdly galivanting around in cosplay would be hard to explain), but he felt his vocal cords tighten a bit.

Cold air rushed over his body as he witness the man rush towards him.

"L̷o̶p̶u̶n̷n̴y̷!̴ ̸L̸o̸p̷u̶n̶n̴y̶!̸ ̷L̶o̴p̶u̸n̶n̶y̸!̴" Ash's voice squeaked out the words as he attempted to say 'Hello, it's great to see a human face around here!'

Momentarily confused, Ash lost his composure, just enough for Leo to toss the Quick Ball at him. Shocked at being hit full **** in his skull with a hard ball, Ash didn't even attempt to resist. He became pure energy. There was no Ash Ketchum in a Shiny-white Lopunny cosplay gear: there was only a dissolving into white energy, then...captivity.

Ash regained his composure only after his head stopped hurting from being smashed with the metallic ball. He was no longer in the natural environment.

No, he was back home, on his bed, in his room. He sat up. Huh. He was still in the Lopunny outfit. Weird. Was he dreaming? Was this all some sort of fantasy?

Not really processing the past events, and also denying the idea that he could be captured like a Pokémon, Ash reached for the doorknob. It jiggled. All it did was jiggle. Ash couldn't pull nor push the door. Totally weird. His window wouldn't unlock either. For now, it seemed Ash was confined to the four walls which composed his room - that is, until he could smash his window.

Leo jumped up and down as the ball stopped shaking for the last time. He'd caught the Lopunny! A rare one, at that! He'd studied Pokemon for days, weeks, months before he'd even contemplated abandoning business school for a career as a trainer. From that wealth of knowledge, he knew Lopunny's weren't supposed to be pink or white.

He read his Pokédex's output with glee.

Hm. Leo was surprised. It seemed his Pokédex didn't have further information on the Lopunny. Not having any moves was a bit weird, but it looked like his new catch did have moves, but it didn't know them yet. Perhaps he'd been the first to ever catch this breed? As he stared at the blinking name area, he considered what to name his first pokemon.

He settled on Candi Thumper. Candi for the pink, Thumper for the ass he would kick with this pokemon.

As Leo gleefully returned to the inn, Ash sat in his 'room' trying to figure out just what the hell was going on.
