Chapter 29

The Gamer suspected she did something to make him feel so tired as he drifted off in her comfortable embrace.
Allocating stat points.
A few hours passed with John asleep. He was awoken by a pleasing sensation coming from his crotch. Still woozy from his nap, he sat up, and while rubbing his eyes, he was greeted with the source of the sensation, two women cheek to cheek slathering every inch of his cock with their tongues. He blinked repeatedly at the erotic view, basking in the heavenly sensations. The Gamer already felt a climax coming on, and he tried resisting a bit to further enjoy another fantasy of his, but their technique was too much for him. The tipping point was when he felt their tongues simultaneously stimulate his balls. “I’m cumming!!!” he yelled, collapsing backward into the bed. One of them wrapped her lips around his cock as it released shot after shot of cum into the waiting mouth. “Fuck, what a way to wake up.”

You’re really breezing through sexual experiences. I should have accounted for a wanton whore like Jasmine when I set up those achievements. I’m partially to blame because of my pranks on Reimi.
John sat up in time to see the pink-haired virgin initiate a kiss with Jasmine, after taking his seed in her mouth. The two were having a passionate makeout session, passing his cum back and forth. ‘Fuck, this is heaven.’
The two finally gulped down what was in their mouths. “Did you enjoy your wake-up call?”
“I’d have to be crazy not to, Jasmine. That’s another thing checked off my bucket list.” The Gamer laughed with a goofy smile.
“I, uh, told her about your, uh, list of desires. Plus, you’d put it in a few stories,” Reimi nervously chimed in, blushing deeply.
“Is it time for us to confront the piece of garbage that kidnapped Meadow?”
“Just about, the guy just started drinking-”
“What, why’d you wait until now to wake me up then?” John interrupted, as he jumped out of the unfamiliar bed. His eyes scanned the dimly lit room for his clothes.
“Calm down, John, we’re in an abandoned apartment across the street from the bar.” The reporter responded by pointing out the window to the bar she just mentioned.
The Gamer stared at her for a moment, then looked to where she was pointing. “Every time I think I have a grasp on things, you surprise me. How did you bring me here without waking-” He stopped mid-sentence realizing how dumb of a question that was since that’s exactly what they planned to do with his mother. Jasmine’s blank expression seemed to be mocking him, for even asking. “Ok, where are my clothes? I want to get dressed and confront this prick already.”
“Here you go, John. Uh, before you go, I suggest you use your unassigned stat points. I know you leveled up three times, so you have at least fifteen of them if everything is as you explained.” Reimi passed the Gamer his clothes, admiring his body.
He pulled up his stats screen while dressing himself. “Good idea, I had planned to ask Jasmine about that this morning. I kind of forgot about it with everything that happened. I have twenty seven points available, do either of you have any recommendations?”
“Realistically, you should decide that on your own. I know we’re helping you, but these are your powers. You’re a fun guy, so as long as you don’t betray me or my family, I doubt we’ll stop being friends. Plus, Gaia is awesome and seems pretty interested in you,” joked the reporter. “My point is, we can advise you, but you really should decide your own path. From what I can gather, all your stats seem to have a use, bar maybe Libido. You probably won’t notice it, but the you of today is certainly more handsome than yesterday’s John. So, I can confidently say Charisma seems useful.”
“Hmm,” he paused for a second to ponder her words, “you do have a point. Ultimately, I’m building myself up as my ideal character. The possibilities seem endless. I’m too frail, so I guess I’ll put about half the points in Endurance.” John allocated thirteen points into the stat, his maximum HP more than doubled, going from sixty to a whopping one hundred twenty five. “Wow, I should have done that sooner. I feel quite a bit safer with more HP. What else to invest in? No, I can't waste a bunch of time on this.”
“Don’t worry about that, John, you can take a few minutes to think. Reimi tapped into the security system of the Abyssal and mundane bar. The guy's not going anywhere, plus with his habits, he’ll be in there for at least two hours,” Jasmine reassured him, pushing the worried Gamer into a chair.
“Yep, listen to Sis, John. Don’t forget we’re professionals, this is our job. Not only am I monitoring the bars, but every unaffiliated security system in about a mile radius,” the pinked-haired technomancer chimed in. “It may have been embarrassing, but that bullying from Gaia was worth it. The god's Wi-Fi connection is more stable and slightly faster than what the Abyss Auction offers.”
“Oh, yeah.” Reimi’s words reminded John of the alerts before he fell asleep. “What was that about a sub quest? I didn’t see that mentioned until the completion notification. Also, why do deities need Wi-Fi?” asked the Gamer, while he still deliberated on what stats to raise.
“Gods seem to have their own set of rules they follow. Not many people know these rules, but since most of them are able to take a physical form, a lot of Abyssals have interacted with them. Heck, as a fellow gamer, I’m sure you’ve probably unknowingly played video games with a few of them. Some of the video game related deities are total trolls.” The way she spoke, Reimi seemed to be talking from experience. “As for the side quest, we got an alert about it at the same time you got the main one. That’s why Sonia instantly yelled dibs. Gaia told us that if we mentioned it to you, it’d end in failure. As for why we got it, your guess is as good as mine. Side quests are common in games, but this is reality, even I was shocked. Try checking your system.”
John started scrolling through his tabs until he saw a search bar. ‘That definitely wasn’t there earlier. I guess Gaia added it at some point.’ He typed in “sub quest”, which instantly brought up an explanation. Sadly, it didn’t give much information, all it said was that it was a quest that may be given to party members at the whim of Gaia. “She seems to not want to go into details about it.”
I don’t want to give you any more loopholes to exploit. Your powers are your own, but like everything else, I’m the one managing it. It’s frustrating when a bunch of brats exploit things I make.
“I get it, I’m sorry to question you, Gaia,” he responded, then shifted his focus back to his stat screen. After a few minutes, he finally made a decision. He put seven of the remaining points into his Strength stat and the remaining seven into Intelligence to bring him closer to having another reserved chance at absorbing a book. “I’m almost ready, do one of you have a health potion I can drink to top off my HP? We’ll be here a while if I need to wait for it to recover naturally,” muttered the Gamer, looking at his abysmal HP recovery rate.
The ebony beauty laughed at him while handing him three potions, two red and one blue. She was smoking a burgundy pipe that looked like something an old man would use; the lingering aroma was a pleasant strawberry. “Good point, drink one of the health potions and store the other two in case of emergency. Let’s go.” Jasmine stopped suddenly, passing him a small earpiece that looked just like something he’d seen in movies. “Almost forgot, put that in your ear. Don’t ask why, you’ll understand in a moment.”
John drank the bitter tasting potion while storing the other two in his inventory. A minute later, his half full HP bar was full. While walking out of the apartment, he briefly examined the tiny black earpiece he’d received, before just giving in and putting the device in as instructed. “John, do you hear me?” Surprised by the pleasant voice of the pink-haired technomancer coming from what he could only describe as inside his head, the Gamer looked around, confirming that the woman in question was indeed still in the room they’d left her in. “You’re not going crazy, the device Jasmine handed to you allows you to join a telepathic network. With this, we can speak without the need to do so verbally. It does drain a crazy amount of mana, but you don’t need to worry about that. The person maintaining the network is the one in charge of mana consumption, namely me. To use the network, just circulate a bit of mana around the device in your ear and it’ll transmit your thoughts as if speaking telepathically like I am.”
The Gamer followed her instructions, channeling some of his mana into his ear. “What a cool device. Wait, whoa, that’s not what I wanted to say. Hey, stop, stop! What the hell?” John stopped circulating his mana, confused that he heard his own thoughts in his head at the same time he was thinking them, almost like an echo in his brain.
Two different sets of giggling could be heard inside his head. “Sorry, John, we were expecting that. I just wanted to have a little fun. When you are using the device, you need to be actively thinking about speaking to us; if you don’t, it’ll transmit your thoughts that are closest to the surface.”.
“Yea, I was hoping to catch some of his perverted thoughts. I knew I should have been the one to speak first. He was busy ogling my ass as we were headed to the stairs before you spoke. I was even intentionally emphasizing my movements in hopes of getting him to reveal his unfiltered thoughts. You ruined my fun, Reimi.” It was a bit weird hearing Jasmine’s voice complain in his head,
“Ignore her, John, let me finish explaining. A good trick to help you is to look at one of the people you are sharing the network with. If you do that, it should be a bit easier. If neither of us are in your line of sight, do your best to form a mental image of one of us.”
He did his best to picture the attractive gamer before attempting to use the device again. “Thanks, Reimi. Cool, it's working properly this time. It is odd hearing my thoughts again while thinking about them. Don’t tell Jasmine, but yea, my eyes were glued to her ass, but you’ve seen that thing, it’s honestly near impossible not to, though yours is also very enticing.”
“Um, John. I may have told you to imagine talking to one of us as a trick to help focus on talking to us telepathically, but even if you think of speaking to just one of us, everyone on the network will still hear your thoughts.” He could somewhat hear the embarrassment in the pink haired virgins words.
Those words were followed up with the laughter of the ebony beauty in front of him. Her giggling was heard both inside and outside his head, as the woman was clearly laughing in front of him on the stairs. “Oh, John, I’m so glad you like my ass. Don’t be embarrassed, as I said, I was doing my best to tempt you and draw your attention to it.”
His face felt flush with his embarrassment. This feeling was one he always hated, the feeling of when he did something he viewed as cringy. It would go beyond embarrassment and make him feel awkward. Lucky for him, Jasmine was becoming adept at reading his thought processes when he went into one of his spirals. She leaned in and gave him a passionate kiss, her tongue dancing with his. “Don’t go down one of those rabbit holes. I did that with this result intended. You did nothing wrong, so man up and focus. Plus, I’m sure you and my ass will be the best of friends.”
To call this a unique experience was an understatement. Kissing, like many other things, may be something the Gamer lacked experience in, but hearing a person talk to him while they passionately made out was something he never even thought of in any of his stories. “This is odd, but really cool,” John said as he enjoyed the sensation of their brief makeout session.
“Great, now that you’ve calmed down, let's go. Are you ready?” asked the reporter, as she led the Gamer out of the apartment building to the bar across the street.

*“Yes,”* was all he said as the pair vanished from the mundane world and entered the barrier.
