what happens next?
A slow dawning
The waitress came back with his change, and David told her to keep it. It was $4.34 for a $15.66 lunch. Dave was a regular, and the waitress Li Li and him always had playful banter. She was a cute, thin, second-generation Chinese-Ameircan with thick black hair in bangs and a bob and nice butt. "Thanks you, sir."
"I told you to call me David. Come on, try it."
"Thanks, David."
"Good. You should also call me your favorite customer ever."
"Thank you, my favorite customer ever," she said with a smile.
Dave smiled back and went to leave. He was met at the door by Li Li's mom who was co-ower with her husband. "Always good to see you," she told him. "Especially on a slow day like today."
"Give me free lunches every day, and I'll drum up business," David said with a grin, being totally facetious.
"Oh, OK, I'll have to run that by my husband, but OK."
Dave realized she was serious. "I was joking."
"Oh, David," she said putting a hand on her arm. "You're so funny!"
David smiled and left. He thought about that interaction, shrugged and walked on towards work.
There is no way that wish came true, he thought. He saw two women walking and talking as they approached him. A slightly overweight woman with dark curly hair and younger cute blonde with short hair. He recognized them as they worked in the same high rise building as he did, but he did not know them. He did a test. "Would you stop and tell me your names."
They stopped and looked at him. "Why?" asked the one with curly hair. "Who are you go give us orders?"
"This is a matter of national security."
"Oh my!" said the woman with curly hair. "What is it?"
Are they really believing me? thought David.
"I can't tell you now." They looked concerned

"You have to do what I tell you. Don't ask why. Hold hands."
They held hands.
"Stick your tongues out as far as you can."
They obeyed again.

Oh, my god! he thought. My wish came true!
