Chapter 20 by frogogre1

So what happens over the following week?

A hatching

Jollus woke on his bed, his mind taking a moment to catch up to his body. He found himself in that moment of wakefulness and sleep wondering about all that had occurred recently. He had gone from a man without purpose who was just begging a long-dead people for forgiveness while knowing he would probably never get it.

Now he had a path of redemption he was walking; he was bringing battle sisters away from the path of butchery and onto the path of life-giving. He was redeeming himself, his people, and his world with what he was doing, bringing them away from the lies of the deceiver. He wondered if maybe one day he would follow the path of the deceiver, for she had gone into other worlds to continue her false crusades.

He found himself truly in awe of such a possibility, but he doubted it. No, it was best to simply do what he can in saving his own world from the deceiver's lies. On those final thoughts, he got up from bed and got to work in his hidden sunken home. As his path of redemption was not an easy one, there was much to do if he was to be sure he would succeed on it.

Junus, leader of her small patrol of battle sisters, watched the traitor get up from bed. Her rage was a fire burning in her eyes as she watched his every move, looking for any weakness that would allow her to break her bonds and free her remaining battle sister. Then she would take her time using her chainsword creatively on the xeno-loving traitor.

Though she would be sure to make him give up what happened to her battle sister Domines. She can still remember the helplessness that coursed through her as Domines was folded up and carried off. She would find out Domine's fate and get her back if possible. She would also pay the traitor back for that feeling of helplessness, she swore to herself in her mind. It was another reason to extend his agony at her hands as long as she could.

She watched as the traitor panicked, making her very interested indeed in what could cause him such fear. She watched as he ran out of the room and came back rapidly with mud. He then, to astonishment, built a nest of mud next to the bed. He then picked up the pregnant woman, and she watched as she gave birth to her horror reptile eggs.

It was then that she realized the true and full depth of the heresy going on in this hidden cabin. The superior human was being used as a breeding ground for the inferior xeno; it was a blasphemy of the highest order. Junus, now knowing her fate and how she would dread the taint of the xeno if she continued to live, tried to bite her own tongue off.

It didn't work, as the strange scales that had been put into her skin had limited her muscle movements. Which also included somehow making sure she couldn't commit suicide by biting her own tongue off. The foul xenos truly were a horrid thing; they would not even allow him the dignity of **** over being a brood mother. Though what else could she expect from foul xenos?

Jollus had panicked, and that was no lie, as he had forgotten with all that was going on in taking the cave of the bearded terror that the pregnant sister would be due soon. So he had to scramble to get everything in position the moment she went into contractions, but he got it done. He had done it with a few seconds to spare and the usual cursing from the sister on the topic of his damnation, but he had gotten done.

It had even turned out to be a better birth than before. As she had laid more than double the eggs, with a total of forty-one eggs being laid. Which meant all together they were about to triple their forces, though hopefully this time the older sibling would help him with the younger ones, though granted they weren't that much older than themselves. In a moment of happiness at the great news, he kissed the first captive sister's cheek.

"Well done!" He said to her, causing her to get real quiet, not that he noticed. As he picked her up and then put her back in her usual position, just no longer pregnant. Agnissa's mind turned in a storm of conflicting emotions that went unnoticed by Jollus as he went back to his duties. He double-checked the eggs were fine, but it seemed the older black scales had them and incubators handled. So he made his way to the docks to go out into the swamp to check on the others and get more food.

How goes the trip?
