A Precious Privilege Pt 8

Walter and the girls had cleaned and refreshed themselves as they came down the stairs. They saw someone had thoughtfully placed Penny's, Neo's and Pyrrha's bouquets in vases.

They found the others in the kitchen having a small party themselves listening to music and making food. It smelled fantastic and all their stomachs grumbled as soon as they entered the kitchen causing much laughter.

But as embarrassing as the situation was only kind words and light teasing were offered. They made sure they all knew they accepted them and their happiness with congratulations, good cheer and food.

Ahnassi had apparently hit the wine cellar. She and all of the rest had partaken already. Only Sienna and Blake seemed tipsy though.

They had moved the party outside. The day was surprisingly warmer than expected even up on the mountain and it was about as warm as it would get today. Walter had built a nice little fire to gather around and enjoy. He didn't want the ladies to catch a chill dressed as they were. They could move the party back inside after the sunsets.

Kali was feeding him something. It was some kind of cream cheese hors d'oeuvre by hand with her delicate fingers. Her eyes twinkling merrily as she laughed. "Walter!"

He was trying not to laugh to as he chewed and swallowed before asking, "what?"

She laughed some more and even harder making him grin. Her laugh was beautiful... and it was doing something delightful to her body as she did it that was hard not to notice in that outfit! He couldn't help thinking that was beautiful too!

"You've gone and gotten it all over your face and into your handsome, beard!" She laughed.

He blushed at the compliment and laughed too! "Well you can dress up a bear in satin and lace but it's still going to be just a bear." He started reaching for a napkin.

"Are you saying the bear isn't just a neighbor? A cousin perhaps?" She was still laughing watching him trying to clean up. Infact she started laughing more! "Walter! You're making it worse! And you're about to get it on your nice clothes too!"

He had taken the opportunity to dress up a just a bit since the ladies had for him. He'd put on a niceshirt and new pants along with a vest and jacket. Neo had picked them out of his closet for him. He skipped the tie though. She rolled her eyes at him and pointed at the tie and he'd shrugged and shook his head. He didn't like ties if he get away with it. She kept insisting that it would look good though. Penny and Pyrrha had giggled watching them have a whole pantomime silent playful "disagreement" like an old married couple.

Walt shrugged. "Well you've caught me Kali. Friday always says I'm a hopeless wreck at these things half the time. Maybe you could assist me?"

She giggled. "I suppose I better! Come here so I can reach a little better and get a good look."

She'd pulled him pretty close and took the napkin in one hand and his chin in her other, inspecting the damage. Her lovely face was close now and he knew he was blushing. Her cheeks were pink too but it was hard to tell.

*It could be just from all the laughing.* he tried telling himself. *Yeah... right, that's it. We'll go with that. Well if it makes her pretty like that you might as well keep her amused you buffon.*

"Give it to me straight doctor," he said, "my acting career in pictures is done? I got a face for radio now, haven't I?"

She laughed delightfully again. "Oh I think your handsome face isn't a lost cause just yet." She was very pink she set the used up napkin aside."I've almost got it now... oh!" She laughed again. "You have a large dab almost all the way back by your ear!"

He was definitely blushing now completely embarrassed. He started to reach for it and she stopped him. "No no. Don't touch you'll smear it. I've got it." She leaned in even closer and he bent down closer to her. She carefully scooped it with her finger and looked him in the eyes smiling, showing him her finger. "There all better."

And when he opened his mouth to thank her, she stuck in. They both looked surprised and froze just like that. The moment was no longer innocent for either of them, it had skipped right over the line into intimate.

But he didn't need to read her mind right now. Now that the line had been crossed she gave him a look that was the definition of smoldering in intensity. He kissed her finger and cleaned it with his tongue and when she withdrew it licking her lips they both leaned in and-

"Walter!" Blake cried coming his way. She seemed sauced and happy but her timing couldn't be worse.

Kali also seemed disappointed. He could see she was flushed and excited in extremely obvious ways. He was too! But the look they shared between them screamed "soon" Kali made a point of biting the finger She'd just had in his mouth as she stepped back.

"Hi Walter!" Said a drunk grinning Blake slapping him on the back. "Great party, yeah?"

Walt sighed. At least she seemed happy and oblivious to him and her mother at the moment. "Yep. It's some party alright, Blake! Having fun?"

"You bet I am!" She said as she slung an arm around his shoulders. Her kunoichi robe had loosened up but she was so blitzed he didn't feel any thrill from it. Infact he was a bit worried. "Are you even old enough to drink yet and how drunk are you?"

She narrowed her eyes, flattened her ears back and pointed at him. "I'll have you know I'm an adult! I'm the adultiest adult that evew adulted!"

Walt nodded. "Yup... that drunk. Okay, little adult lady let's go set you down somewhere and get you something to drink, ok?" *Like water.* he thought. *You're not going to like a wine hangover, "adult" Blake.*

Kali put her hand on his shoulder. The touch was innocent but after their shared moment just then it held all kinds of meaning. Her face was concerned though."I'm sorry Walter. Thank you for helping her. Do you need a hand?" She was a good mother and a good person.

Walt was about to answer but Blake said, "I don't need help mothew! Besidesh Waltew and I awe fweinds now! Wight? We got thish!"
