I hate to end a story on a bad note, even if life so often does, so there is a good path to this story. It may take some time as I burnt a lot of creative energy the past couple days writing this thread and these two alternate branches. Leave suggestions in the comments for how I might branch out further, and like other stories of mine, I may incorporate your ideas.
