Oh, and did we mention that marriage is problematic because kissing your wife on the mouth will get her drunk? Makes establishing romantic connections for carrying on the lineage difficult, because there's another side to the curse: if one of the afflicted Sextons has intercourse with someone who cannot fully consent they immediately become violently ill with fever, chills, and severe nausea for at least a week...

The Protagonist is a young half breed, trying to make their way on their home-world as an agent of Imperial Terra. One of their parents was a pure-strain human, the other was: Something ELSE.
