Alexa had missed one class, so she headed to math class. As she did she heard snickers up and down the hallway. Alexa’s face burned wondering how many people had seen her in the nurse’s office.

Alexa felt all eyes on her as she turned into her math class. “You’re late, Ms Johnson,” her math teacher said. “Take a seat up here. We’ll talk about how you can make up the test you missed.”

Alexa nodded as she obeyed her teacher. She sat in front of Megan who was staring at her. As her teacher continued on with her lecture, Alexa couldn’t help but hear people whispering, snickering. She wondered if they knew about what had happened, but she never got that answer. “Okay, everyone,” the teacher said. “It’s time to head to lunch. Everyone, head to the cafeteria.”
