the aftermath of Abbie's dare
"Well," Staci said after a long while. She was smirking, and had some trouble making eye contact with anyone except Phil. "Did anyone else have 'bridesmaid makes new stranger climax in the limo' on their wedding weekend bingo card?"
Little by little, members of the group began to laugh and chatter again. The glorious tension of the moment between Emily and Abbie was thrilling to everyone, though no one quite knew how to talk about it. Jake looked on with a knowing appreciation, and as he visually canvassed the group, he wondered whether anyone would take issue with what had just happened. The fact was that they had all (or almost all) taken part in it, in one way or another. No one interfered with anything regarding Phil and Staci, though Jake was even curious what might have happened if Abbie had made the complete circuit of the group. He stared a bit at Phil, trying to get a read as to whether Phil might have thought Abbie had crossed a line.
"Don't worry," Staci said softly. She saw Jake looking at Phil, and she felt that she knew what was on Jake's mind. "If it doesn't bother you, it doesn't bother me."
Jake smiled. "Nothing she does bothers me." He looked at Abbie who was still catching her breath on the limo seat. Emily still sat on her lap, her hands casually roaming Abbie's body, touching her neck, her arms, her breasts. As he glanced around the limo, it seemed that everyone had more or less progressed to a state of intimacy. Rick and Taylor had been going at it all day, and they certainly looked like that could be minutes away from stripping down and having sex right there. Melanie and Karl were holding each other's heads and necks, making out tenderly. Arthur had let go of Abbie's arms, but was taking the moment to gently caress and fondle both Abbie and Emily as they all sat near one another in a corner. Danny was wedged between Alicia and Ashley, both of whom were actually behaving the least aggressively of the group, as they were merely running their fingers along Danny's chest as he sat back with his head relaxed.
Jake's eyes returned to Staci, who was still watching him. "You thought something like this might happen," he said to her.
Staci pursed her lips together as if to speak, but didn't right away. "Most people are just one or two social cues away from truly living out their deeper desires." She glanced over at Abbie and added, with a grin, "Well, some are closer than that, I suppose."
With that, Staci stood up and coughed lightly to break into the dream state that hovered over the limo.
"I think we're getting close to the marina."
As if on cue, the limo began to slow, the scenery outside the windows changing from busy streets to a more serene coastal view. The game forgotten, everyone began to peer out the windows, eager for their first glimpse of the yacht.
