tell Becky she needs to be on her best behavior for brunch with the twins to allow the Daddy's Family upgrade to work. She should try to be serious and boring Rebecca, if only through brunch

As the Range Rover glides through Kensington's elegant streets, you squeeze Becky's hand and lean in close to her ear. Through your connection, you can feel her excitement bubbling like champagne, giddy at the prospect of showing off your unconventional family arrangement.

"Becky," you whisper, making sure Rick can't overhear as he checks emails on his phone in the front passenger seat. "For the Sister Synergy upgrade to work properly, we need to be super strategic at brunch."

She tilts her head, pigtails bouncing. "What do you mean?"

"The app—I mean, the bond—works best if we don't shock the twins too much right away," you explain, your simplified mind somehow managing this bit of manipulation. "You should try to act like boring Rebecca just through brunch. You know, all serious and executive-like. It'll make Daddy's Family upgrade process smoother."

Becky's brow furrows adorably. "But I don't wanna be boring!"

"Just pretend," you insist, stroking her arm. "Like a game! You pretend to be old Rebecca during brunch, then afterward we can be super fun sisters again. It'll, like, totally help the bond grow stronger."

Through your connection, you feel her confusion slowly transform into understanding. "Ohhh, like undercover work! I can pretend to be boring Rebecca for a few hours." She straightens her posture immediately, her expression shifting to something more composed. "Like this?"

The transformation is startling. Her voice drops half an octave, losing its breathy quality. "I've been working on the Harrington portfolio," she says in a perfect imitation of her former self. "The third-quarter projections are quite promising."

"That's perfect!" you whisper excitedly.

Rick glances back, his eyes widening slightly at the change in his daughter's demeanor. "Everything okay back there?"

"Of course, Father," Becky responds coolly, crossing her legs at the ankle. "Ashley and I were just discussing appropriate behavior for brunch."

Rick's expression cycles through confusion, relief, and then suspicion. "Rebecca? You sound... like yourself."

"I am myself," she responds with just the right touch of professional indignation. "I simply thought it appropriate to maintain certain standards in front of Matthew and Amanda."

You can feel through your connection how hard she's working to maintain this charade—it's like watching someone try to solve complex equations while underwater. Her transformed mind struggles with the sophisticated vocabulary and demeanor, but she's pulling it off through sheer determination.

"Thank Christ," Rick mutters, running a hand through his thinning hair. "I was worried we'd have to cancel."

As the car approaches the restaurant, Becky squeezes your hand, sending a pulse of mischievous excitement through your connection. This is going to be so fun! you hear in your mind, clear as if she'd spoken aloud. Playing pretend before we show them who we really are later!

You giggle softly, impressed by her acting skills but knowing the Sister Synergy upgrade has made her transformation permanent. She's just playing dress-up in the shell of her former self, and sooner or later, the twins will see the truth behind the masquerade.

The Range Rover pulls up to Bellingham's, a tasteful white-fronted establishment with gold lettering and uniformed doormen. Marcus opens the door, and Rick steps out first, extending a hand to help each of you from the car.

"Best behavior," he murmurs as you both join him on the sidewalk. "At least until dessert."

"Of course, Daddy," you whisper, kissing his cheek quickly before Becky—now standing tall and composed—shoots you a warning glance that perfectly mimics her former self's disapproval.
