What does she try?
switch to another point of view
Marcio took another deep breath of the crisp autumn air as the car roared along. He loved the power he felt at nightfall, and tonight in particular it was electrifying; he couldn't shake the feeling that something important was going to happen. Something good, he hoped.
Rod, completely oblivious to his inner musings, yawned loudly, then leaned over and flipped on the radio, setting it to some overly loud rock garbage that set Marcio's teeth on edge and threatened to completely shatter the mood he'd been in. Though irritated, he bit back the first angry complaint that leapt to his lips; Rodney, despite being an ignorant, uncouth slob, was one of the tiny handful of people he could trust at this point in life, outcast that he was. It would do no good to start an argument over something so petty.
Instead, he opted for the diplomatic approach, turning the music nearly all the way down and then launching into a conversation before his companion could protest.
"So, where to tonight, my friend?" He knew Rod, like himself, was only after two things; food and sex, and not necessarily in that order. The only question was where the hunt would take place.
Rodney grinned, his long fangs flashing. "I hear there's gonna be a great party out by the lake tonight. Might be fun to crash it."
Marcio hesitated. In his experience, Rod's idea of a 'great party' consisted of even more aggravating music than that which had been blaring from the car radio, and a bunch of losers with questionable hygeine lounging around getting drunk, or high, or both. Sure, that might actually work in their favor, loosen up tonight's targets and make them more open to suggestion, but it still wasn't his idea of a good time.
"How about the Eclipse?" he asked, referring to his favorite nightclub.
Rod snorted. "That snooty place again?" He frowned a little, but shrugged. "Whatever man, I don't care. Just as long we can score some chicks."
Now that he thought about it they HAD been going to the club a lot lately...Marcio hated to establish a pattern that way, even though as far as he knew no one from his old clan had tracked him to this town yet. The party still didn't sound like his kind of thing though. He took a moment to wrack his brain for any other ideas. They were coming up on an intersection just outside of the city proper that would lead off to the lake, so he tried to make up his mind quickly.
Where to?
