Chapter 2 by sumedokin sumedokin

Where to start?

srr.mod

You don't know why you looked up the single worst rated module on the website, apart from the zombie module, that on top of it all didn't have a description, much less downloading it. Maybe it was curiosity. Maybe you just enjoy snarkily breaking apart a poor craftsmanship for the catharsis. Maybe you actually enjoy the simplistic charm of an amateurish program. Nonetheless you already downloaded it and now you will run it to see what you will get yourself into.
At the very least you hope it won't turn out to be a virus.
You put on the headset, power it up and push the launch button on your computer. The screen goes black with a green text that says "LOADING!"

You hate this part.

Your vision becomes defined by a grid of tennis ball sized squares that blink different colours and contrasts to best emulate your environment with insufficient resources. Occasionally the blinking results in divisions of a square being different colours or shades than the rest, which eventually results in the grid being constituted by smaller and smaller pixels that can convey the environment coherently.
First the pixels are the size of marbles, then the size of grains of sand. Very quickly the components disappear into the objects of which they are composing.
Soon you are able to distinguish shapes, then light and shadow and finally depth, before that last extra spice of fidelity that engendered the current generation graphics settles.

God, it's pretty, but the ordeal has given you a headache.
You now find yourself in a pleasant lower middle class neighbourhood with the sterile two storey houses having a distinct hint of Japanese architecture. In spite of how large the houses are and how close they are to each other, the greenery of spring makes itself not just present but characteristic to this scene. The outlines of grass around and between the perimeters and the odd shrub grown on rebates in front of the houses are what rescues this neighbourhood from being a cataclysm of dullness, turning into enjoyable sight.
There are sidewalks, but the road you're standing on isn't meant for motor traffic which is why the fences separating one house from another extends onto them and the rebates are built on them as well.

"{first_name}!" a voice calls out your name. Turning around you find the bubbly Sayori in a school uniform of dark-tan jacket and blue skirt rushing towards you. She grabs your right arm and nuzzles against you.
"Ah, Sayori!" you say running your fingers through her short, pink-coloured hair and pets her lovingly. She is just slightly shorter than you with a slim physique that nonetheless makes her feminine curves discernable through her uniform, "What're you doing Sayori? We'll be late for school"
You don't really mean that but want to play the part. She simply giggles in response.

Suddenly you feel your left arm being grabbed as well. On your other side is Yuri hugging your arm but in a very awkward grip, her left arm wrapping itself under and over your arm and seizing your wrist, while her right hand grabs her left wrist.
"Yuri?" you say confused. That move really didn't seem like her at all, not even for her yandere mode. Her grip is of iron and forceful enough to seize your movement.
"Got you!" Yuri yells out. You try pushing her away, but in doing so find yourself pulling your arm into a very awkward and very painful position so you immediately stop.
During this distraction you feel Sayori's grip switch, finding her gripping you in the same way as Yuri; her strength exceeding not just what is appropriate for a hug but what you thought a sweet girl with a small frame would be capable of. "Bring him in, girls!"

Soon after Monica and Natsuki appear from their hiding spots behind the fence of one of the houses, carrying a large burlap sack.
Seeing where this is going you try to slip away from your captors, but immediately regret doing so as a spike of pain courses through your arms.

"Girls, how about we don't do this? Can we stop for a moment and talk? Or just... stop?" your voice gets more and more **** for every word.
"I don't think so {first_name}," Monica says opening up the bag, "We're simply gonna need you to come along for this little trip."
"Tsk, it's not even as bad as you think it is, {first_name}" Natsuki says, "just stop struggling and follow us."

You are unceremoniously tossed inside the sack, and the world goes dark as it's closed. The moment Yuri and Sayori let go of your arms, you start kicking and thrashing with all your might, grabbing the rough fabric and trying to tear yourself free. From above you feel yourself thrown to the ground by the weight of seveeral soft bodies, spinning you around and lifting you up to be carried away. Your arms and legs are pinned to your sides, rendering you unable to resist.
"Help! Someone help!" you scream, but of course since no one else populates this game no one comes to your rescue.

Eventually the bag opens up and you are tossed on the floor. You find yourself in a gray, featureless room with no visible doors or windows, a single lightbulb hanging from the ceiling, dimly illuminating the entire room. At the center of the room is a four-legged wooden table surrounded by five chairs.
The table is empty apart from a single silver-coloured revolver and a handful of brass rounds strewn around nearby.

The girls are all surrounding you as you sit on your knees looking around, in shock and confusion. "Is... is this... that's not what I think it is... ?"
"Oh, {first_name}, we just wanted to play a little game with you," Monica says in the calm and friendly yet authoritative tone you always imagined her to have.
"Welcome," Sayori says with the enthusiasm of a game host presenting her show, "to the Doki Doki Strip Russian Roulette Club!"

Strip Russian Roulette?
