What's next?
shrunk and locked
The coffee machine in the kitchen gurgled softly while thin morning light cut through the blinds.
Quarter to seven sharp, the table was set: fresh fruit, two mugs, the plate positioned with exact alignment just as she demanded. With every step, the base ring of the resin fixture bit mercilessly into my pubic bone. The skin burned—deep red and scored raw by the rigid edges—yet I stood rigid, hands locked behind my back, eyes fixed straight ahead on the doorway.
The faint drag of her house slippers announced her approach.
Loona entered the kitchen wrapped in a burgundy silk robe. Her hair was still damp, her expression detached, alert, and razor-sharp. She poured herself a cup of black coffee, took a seat at the table, and glanced with halfhearted interest at her smartphone resting beside the plate.
"You received a message," she remarked offhandedly, never looking up.
My pulse knocked hard against my ribs. Of course she knew. Through *Kidslox*, every incoming signal routed through her device first.
"From Nadja," she continued, taking a slow sip. Her eyes lifted, measuring me from the dark rings under my eyes down to the telltale contour beneath my sweatpants. A faint, calculating smile touched the corners of her mouth. "She needs a hand on Friday. A little issue in her flat, all by herself, poor thing. Wouldn't you like to lend dear Nadja a hand?"
The derision in her tone was unmistakable, yet beneath the surface lingered something darker—a calculated trap I couldn't fully map out. The fact that the two had been close friends for years, that Nadja likely knew every degrading detail of my routine, that this damsel-in-distress routine was merely a rehearsed script—it all hung in the room like an invisible noose.
"I… I do whatever you decide," I managed raspy. My throat was parched dry.
Loona set her mug down. The porcelain clinked faintly against the saucer.
"How obedient," she purred, standing up and rounding the table toward me with unhurried steps. Her hands buried deep into the pockets of her robe before drawing out a heavy, cold object, setting it down with a dull clatter against the stone worktop.
Polished stainless steel. Noticeably shorter than the resin model, the cylinder diameter minuscule, the base ring aperture narrowed down so severely that the breath seized in my throat.
"The resin was child's play, John," she whispered, stepping so close her scent completely crowded my senses. Her index finger tapped against my sternum, tracing slowly downward until it pressed firmly against the cylinder under the cotton. "With the continuous containment and the lack of space, you've shrunk down regardless. Your body is adapting. It's learning to become smaller, insignificant."
A shiver of sheer powerlessness and illicit heat ran down my spine.
"You are going to go to Nadja’s," she went on, her emerald eyes glittering with vicious anticipation. "You are going to help her. You will play the polite, accommodating guy who comes running. But the price of admission is this." She dragged a fingertip over the cold steel. "No more leeway. Not a single millimeter. You will be locked inside this metal while standing right in front of her, struggling not to give yourself away."
She surveyed my trembling face, entirely drunk on her control.
"And while you're down on your knees at Nadja’s playing the dutiful helper, Timo will be right here," she whispered, her voice dripping with undisguised contempt. "He will take whatever he pleases right on that sofa—everything you aren't permitted to touch. He doesn't need to be crammed into miniature cages; he fills out the space you surrendered without a fight. He carries the weight of an actual man, while you degrade day by day into a shrunken joke."
She tapped the cold metal with her nail, sending it sliding across the counter with a sharp, resonant clink.
"Pants down, John. Let's see how neatly you fit inside now."
My hands operated purely on reflex. They shook so violently that the drawstring slipped twice through my fingers before the fabric dropped to the floor. The cool morning air hit the raw, inflamed impressions around my hips.
I dropped to my knees before the base cabinets, palms flat against the cold tiles.
Loona leaned over. Undoing the old resin case took mere seconds—a swift twist of the small key, the dull parting of the shells, and the plastic tumbled discarded to the floorboards. For a single heartbeat, blood surged into the irritated skin, but relief never followed. What she had spoken burned deeper than any physical restriction: the realization that my own flesh had surrendered to the endless denial, growing smaller, inconsequential, while Timo claimed the role of the man in this apartment without resistance.
The stainless steel felt freezing in her grip, yet as she tried to slide the narrow tubular cage over the sensitized flesh, the movement ground to an immediate halt.
Despite weeks of denial, the base remained too swollen, the tissue reacting to the sudden rush of air and prolonged constriction with slight inflammation. The narrow steel ring refused to pass; its rigid rims pressed hard against the bone without yielding.
"Look at that," Loona muttered with a cutting edge, stripping any trace of amusement into freezing detachment. "Still imagining you're entitled to take up space, are you?"
She dropped the metal onto the kitchen counter with a hard slap, making the padlock rattle. Then she bent lower.
Without an instant of warning, her open palm struck hard and dry.
The sharp crack echoed off the tiles. The shock exploded through my groin, clean as a blade, followed by a heavy, sickening ache that knocked the wind straight from my chest. My upper body pitched forward in a violent spasm, fingers clawing at the grout.
"Hold still," she hissed without mercy.
Before I could recover, the second strike landed—precise, unyielding—followed immediately by the hard, agonizing clamp of her fingers. She squeezed with measured brutality, kneading the defenseless tissue with cold calculation to force every trace of swelling and response violently outward. The ache drilled deep into my pelvis, every nerve flaring in rebellion, while the sheer degradation of the treatment turned my face burning hot.
"You shrink now, John," she murmured, her grip tightening further, refusing an inch of slack until a ragged gasp broke from my lips. "Every shred of defiance, every unapproved reaction—I will beat it out of you personally until you fit inside what I've assigned you."
She struck again—three short, snapping slaps in rapid succession that left a numb, throbbing burn behind. The chill of the tiled floor, the pain, and the absolute humiliation took their toll: the tissue yielded, retreating under the ruthless pressure, shrinking away from her fingers until barely a pathetic remnant remained.
With a sound of quiet satisfaction, Loona reached back for the cold steel.
This time, there was no resistance. The narrow cylinder slid smoothly over the shrunken, bruised flesh; the tight ring clamped down like a vise around the base. Without hesitation, she drove the retaining pin through the eyelets and clicked the brass padlock shut.
*Click.*
The collar was set with absolute finality, the metal biting into skin raw from the blows, the constriction total.
"That's more like it," she said flatly, wiping her palm casually against the hem of her robe as she straightened up.
She didn't step away. Instead, she slid her hands easily into the pockets of her robe, looking down at me while I remained kneeling on all fours, gasping, forehead nearly touching the stone floor. The heavy ache in my lower abdomen pulsed in lockstep with my racing pulse, and the narrow stainless casing felt like a searing band around crushed flesh.
"Do you honestly think you're permitted to simply get back up?" she asked softly, using that cutting composure that choked the throat. "I just went through the trouble of making you fit. I spared you the delusion of imagining you're anything more than a quiet, dutiful servant."
She took half a step forward. Her house slippers slid soundlessly from her heels, left behind beside the cabinets. Her bare feet stood directly before my face against the light stone—flawless, pale, cool, the toenails painted dark.
"Show your gratitude, John," she ordered without raising her voice. "And prove to me you understand where you belong."
No resistance stirred within me, no defiance, not even the faintest hesitation. The final remnants of who I used to be had been crushed under her palm and the cold snap of that lock. All that remained was the desperate urge to measure up in her eyes, to validate her absolute claim with every breath.
I lowered my forehead lower still until the cold joints of the floor pressed into my temple, and crawled slowly forward.
My lips settled trembling against the high arch of her right foot. The skin was smooth and cool, a striking contrast to the feverish heat radiating through my face. I lingered there, taking in her scent—the subtle shower oil, the crisp coolness of the morning—before pressing a second, lingering kiss directly over her toes.
"Thank you, Loona," I managed, the words rasping, broken and crushed against the stone. "Thank you… for making me smaller."
A quiet, contented breath slipped from her. She didn't withdraw her foot an inch, receiving the homage with the bored certainty of an owner collecting a routine toll, before nudging her toe lightly against my bottom lip like a brand.
"Good," she said coolly, drawing her foot back and slipping back into her slippers.
She studied me for a beat while I remained bowed over the tiles. A flicker of cruel amusement returned to her expression as the schedule crossed her mind.
"Oh, that's right… no lectures yet. Semester break," she continued with velvety firmness, smoothing down her robe. "All the better. You won't be wasting the day sitting around here sulking."
Stepping over to the counter, she tapped briefly across her smartphone before turning the screen toward me.
"Eight o'clock, you're at the gym. Full leg workout, John. Squats, lunges—I want you feeling every single millimeter of that steel with every single rep. Get used to the fact that it owns you, that it bites with every movement. And don't even think about cutting it short. I'll be tracking your timestamps through the app."
She pocketed the device and pointed toward the grocery list pinned to the fridge with a magnet.
"Directly afterward, you run the weekly errands. Mineral water, fresh greens, the muesli, and the coffee roast I like. Carry the bags home on foot. When you get back at eleven, this kitchen better be spotless and the pantry fully stocked. Understood?"
"Yes, Loona," I forced out hoarsely, while the frozen ring dug deep against my pubic bone and the sheer prospect of heavy training and hauling loaded bags under the fresh metal already made my chest seize.
"Good. Now get up and get ready."
Turning on her heel, she picked up her coffee mug and paced out of the kitchen with even strides, leaving me to pull myself up on aching bones and burning skin to carry out her schedule down to the letter.
