Chapter 9
A Crosspath
part 8
"Welcome to the cafe. Please enjoy your stay!" Lynn shouted from a distance as she served her customer.
Carden trembled as it was difficult for her to make direct contact with Violet. She looked down at her feet and then the alignment of Violet's bridges, following her glossy black heels.
Carden clenched and raised her arm. "Please pass through," she said.
Violet replied, "Wait, I haven't properly thanked you at the train... I thank you," naturally smiling. How beautiful. Carden thought.
"It's alright, thank you. Let me serve your table," as Carden looked around for an available spot which Violet softly spoke, "I believe my husband is here. With a fitted suit? He most likely reserved one," while holding her purse; firmed of her assumption.
Carden easily knew, upon looking at Violet’s wedding ring, she’s the wife of the man who are reuniting.
Such a blessing for her to be married to a fine man. "Eh, a blessing?" she questioned silently.
"Oh, okay. I believe I was serving him before you came. Walk with me," Carden gestured.
"Yes, very appreciated," Violet warmly replied.
With no unusual feeling of her flats taken at every step, Carden felt even more nervous sensing Violet's presence from behind, along with the clicking sound of her heels. She could feel a bit of sweat on her forehead.
Gosh, of all the chances. She thought.
The man instantly stood up as he gently held Violet's hands, kissing it as he gave her a warm hug. They went for a kiss, as Violet tiptoed, mildly slipping off her heels, unrevealing a bit of her arches until she descended to her posture. The man whispered as they both started giggling, affectionate from seeing each other in person.
