Chapter 5
Just a thought?
part 4
(Nothing happened afterwards after cleaning her dishes)
She prepared her bag, making sure to have everything inside, including a pair of ankle socks since she didn’t trust her feet at that point.
As her hair extended below her shoulders, Carden tied it in a ponytail, ensuring that her sleek and smooth hair stayed intact, reflecting the aura light, showcasing its healthy, vibrant shades of black. (Considering her overall appearance, how is she still single? With all that beauty, she’s still alone)
She hurries down the hallway to the Genkan, knowing something unexpected would happen since her feet would react if she wears a pair of her shoes. She had no other choice, confident as she grabbed her trench coat and folded it in her arms, as she places a pair of grain black ankle boots in front of her feet for easy slipping.
Carden adjusted her left foot at the opening of her shoe, but to an instant surprise, her right foot leaped, causing her to lose balance and fall once again, with bag and coat obstructing her view.
“You have to be kidding…”, Carden exclaimed in frustration as she sat on the steps, looking at her left foot exposed.
She felt the fabric between her left fingers as she lifted her arm, realizing that she had accidentally pulled of her sock when she fell.
Now, she glanced at her right foot, and to her surprise, it had chosen its own pair of shoes—the patent black flats she wore yesterday. Her right foot nestled comfortably in the insole, which offered a subtle warmth and alleviated Carden’s frustration. She watched as her toes slid inside the insoles, each finding its place and rested comfortably within the confines of the shoe, as if fitting perfectly into the imprints. In her mind, she sensed the precision of her foot within the flat shoe, feeling the cushioning of the insole and the alignment of her arch resting at the bottom, with the heel firmly grounded at the shoe.
Speechless, Carden aroused, unable to hide her blushing expression as she felt the left sole grabbed the sock off by her fingers. Its toes glided inside the sock, we’re Carden helped, gently pulling the sock, adjusting it with her fingers and sliding it it over her heel. Her left foot gestured a thank you as it reached and slipped into the left flat shoe, gripping the insole with its toes, padding the cushioning, it aligned its toes with the imprints. The arch relaxed and settled firmly at the insole, emitting a small ‘purr’ as the heel cozied into place. Perplexed by what just happened, Carden now wore her flats, well her feet comfortably resting at her shoes in a deep deep hibernation. She nip her lip to clear her mind from all the swirling emotions as she stood up.
With this pair of flats, the cushioning will support her weight throughout the day.
With many question in her mind, she checked her watch, noting that the upcoming train will arrive less than five minutes. She slung her bag over her shoulder, folded her trench coat, opened the door and closed it behind her. Taking a deep breath, she hurried towards the station embracing her crazy new day.
