Having no care for the book I turned to leave. I had intended to give it to a librarian for reshelving. Looking back on my life I must wonder if this it is the normal way of things, the way that the most important events are brought about by the most humdrum and ordinary of things, even fatuine mistakes. I had, of all the things I could possibly do, forgotten to ensure my shoe were secure, my shoes laces had come untied.
I fell.
I fell upon the book. Hard. It was... was in a very awkward position. It buckled under my weight. It shattered. The book flew apart as if it were made of glass.
I felt sick down to my core. I rolled off the Chrononomicon. My eyes saw an impossib-bl... impossiliblb... impossssislbi... something that should not have been able to happen.
A Hole in the World.
In the middle of my stomach was a storm of chaotic black light. It grew. Soon I was... I don't know what I was, or where, or when.
