no free meal

Mike and Ash sat in the college cafeteria, even though there were only a dozen or so people inside there seemed to be a common thread among all of them. Each were a pair and each pair was a normal guy and a feminine looking boy. Some looked like boys in glam makeup while others were like Ash. Every pair were alone in their own tables. Almost like they were on a-"So Mike," Ash sat his tray on the table interrupting Mike's train of thought as he slid into the plastic chair. "what are your plans?"

"I,uh," A strange flowery smell filled Mike's nose, was Ash wearing perfume? Mike shook his head and pulled out the folded paper he kept on him. "I got philosophy and calculus tomorrow and-"

"Well, I wondered if you'd want to go with me to the mall that's why I asked."

"The mall?"

"Yeah, I don't have a car." Ash smile faded, "The last time I went alone some guys...hassled me. I thought if you went with me there wouldn't be a problem." He looked like a sad kitten as he sat across from Mike.
