never anger a witch

Princess Katherine was in the midst of a rare excursion through the local market. She was trying to find the perfect material for a new gown. Red, of course, to match her hair. She checked from stall to stall, her entourage of guards trailing behind her. Everything she saw was just junk however. She cursed this small market, and wished they lived near a more bustling shopping district. She'd have to order her ruby colored fabrics elsewhere.

As she walked there was an old woman crossing the path before her. The woman was taking her time, oblivious to the Princess's presence. Katherine rolled her eyes, as she waved the guards forward. The two guards came and grasped each of the woman's arms.

"What's this?!" The old crone called out in surprise.

"You blocked the path of a princess." Katherine explained. My guards were clearing the way."

"You'd toss an old woman aside in the dirt?" The crone asked, genuinely shocked.

"Hmm... would I do that?" Katherine asked sarcastically. "Well, lets see!"

The guards, knowing the princess's nature, threw the crone aside to the ground. The woman screamed as she was thrown aside. She fell in the dirt as Katherine smirked and began to continue.

"You should not have done that!" the old crone spat.

"Oh?" Katherine asked, turning back to face the old woman. "And why is that?"

"Had you passed on your way, your fate would have continued along it's current path." The crone pointed a clawed finger towards Katherine. "But now that you disrespected your elder and showed yourself to be a cruel brat, I curse you to a fate much more cruel and humiliating!"

Katherine rolled her eyes. Every old crone pretended to be a witch to get their way. True, there was real magic out there, but what were the odds this old lunatic possessed the ability to hex her?

Little did she know, the crone truly was a witch, and the curse was now upon her...
