Lauren and Kyle were seated. Lauren, totally embarrassed by her strange garb, was eager to be seated and not be so visible. Kyle was looking at Lauren, clearly staring at her strange, immature dress. Lauren fidgeted nervously, trying to pretend nothing was wrong.

The waitress set down two menus. Vanessa, seeing an opportunity, used her powers to make some changes to reality around them.

Lauren, fighting down a blush, picked up the menu. Her eyes widened in surprise. It was a colorful menu with big pictures. This was the kid's menu! She turned annoyed towards the waitress.

"Why did you give me the kid's menu?" Lauren asked.

"Why wouldn't I?" The waitress, who was being controlled and influenced by Vanessa asked.

"Why wouldn't I! Do I look like a kid to you?!" Lauren said, angry. This was obviously a touchy subject for her.

"Well, actually..." The waitress said, looking at Lauren's immature dress. Lauren noticed her gaze and blushed.

"Just give me a real menu!" Lauren demanded, growing shrill.

"Of course." The waitress switched out Lauren's menu and walked away.

Lauren looked to Kyle, who looked uncomfortable. Lauren realized her date was not off to a good start...
