The logging truck's air horn ripped through forest. Dani gasped and tried to gun her car, but the wheels just dug deeper into the mud. In front of her, trees. The horn blared again, mixed with the sound of the trucks breaks engaging. Dani stared at the wall of steel coming toward her. She whipped the seatbelt off and pulled the door handle, slamming her shoulder into it.

Dani tumbled out of the car and scrurried into the woods as fast as she could. She dove between the trees and turned her head just in time to see the impact. The sound of steel destroying plastic and fiberglass joined the calamity of trees being ripped by metal and debris.

Dani's breath was coming in short, choppy breaks. Her green eyes were dilated, and her smooth skin was shocked white. She idly pushed a strand of her short, stylish Auburn hair from her forhead. When the screetching tires finally fell silent, Dani fainted on the forest floor.

Her sleep, however, was short lived.
