its a smoldering friendship

Becky had barely reached the locker room when she decided to call Tegan.

"hello?" Tegan answered.

"hey Tegan!" Becky said cheerfully.

"are ye watchin' raw?"

"I saw what you did to Kay Lee Ray." Tegan said coldly.

"that was uncalled for."

Becky was confused.

"but Tegan- I -I thought -"

"if you think I'm going to say I enjoyed that, THINK AGAIN! how could you DO that to her?!" Tegan shouted.

"I don't know what you two do in the bedroom and I don't WANT to know! but you DO NOT violate a woman's body and trust like that!"

"now Tegan ye need ta calm down-" Becky started to say but Tegan cut her off.

"I don't know you anymore Becky, and frankly I DONT WANT TO!"

"Tegan I did all o' this fer you-"

"NO." Tegan had never sounded this angry.

"you did it for yourself. you wanted to pay her back for hurting you so you did. you chose to hurt Kay Lee when a simple kind word would suffice."

"Tegan I'm sorry I-"

"just don't Becky."

Tegan hung up.

Becky tried to call her back but Tegan didn't answer.

her vengeance high gone, Becky felt the cold oppression of reality settle on her.

Becky walked over and sat on the bench at the end of the lockers and hung her head.

Becky heard the shower turn on but paid no attention to it.

the girls were always showering after matches.

she sat there listening to the sound of the water, something she sometimes liked to do after a rough match.

but all too often it shut off far too quickly.

after awhile she noticed this seemed to be a long shower someone was taking. curious Becky decided to see if she could tell who it was.

Becky stood and walked over but as she approached she heard a new sound.

the sound of someone quietly sobbing.

Becky peered around the corner.

Kay lee Ray stood facing the left wall under the shower, water pouring down her smooth pale body, her slender butt on full display.

Kay Lee was crying into her hand her tears mixing with the water.

Becky's heart sank as she realized the depths of what she had done.

in her lust for vengeance she had forgotten the basics of simple humanity.

"Kay Lee.."

Becky had reflexively said her name and she felt worse when Kay lee looked at her.

Becky found herself staring into the face of Kay Lee Ray, her blue eyes filled with tears, her face contorted with pain.

"leave me alone Becky." she said quietly as she turned away and began slowly getting dressed.

Becky noticed Kay Lee was favoring her legs as though she were in pain.

a pang of remorse shot through Becky's heart.

"Kay Lee.." Becky struggled to find the words she needed.

"PLEASE Becky. just go away. ye HURT me, ye embarrassed me. ye got what ye wanted."

Kay Lee looked at her, as she tried to unplaster her hair from her head.

"unless now I have to lick yer arsehole. one final humiliation ta break the great Kay Lee Ray."

Becky stared at her.

"Kay Lee..I wouldn't do THAT te ya! look I admit I haven' been great te ya lately and I deserve some payback myself but I love-"

"REBECCA KNOX!" Kay Lee said angrily pulling her pants up,

"I TOLD ye that I was SORRY! THAT WE COULD STILL BE together! I told ye BEFORE any o' this!

BUT THAT WASN'A NUFF FER YE! ye had ta hurt me ta prove yer point!"

Becky drew her close and kissed her deeply.

Kay Lee resisted at first then gave into the kiss.

after several minutes of rough aggressive kissing they paused to breathe.

"Becky?" Kay Lee whispered, tears rolling down her cheeks.

Becky hugged her close.

"I'm sorry. I know that may not mean much anymore but I still love ye."

Kay lee hugged Becky and rested her cheek against Becky's cheek ,her chin resting on Becky's shoulder.

"I wish I could tell ye I love ye Becky...but I just don't know about US anymore."

Becky felt her heart drop.

"Kay Lee...I wish I could take it back."

Kay Lee smiled at her and suddenly she seemed like the old Kay Lee Ray Becky had first become friends with.

Kaylee finished dressing.

"oh and Becky," Kay Lee pressed two hundred dollars into Becky's hand.

"here's what's left of what I took from ye."

"Kay Lee ye don't have ta. KEEP it."

"nah ye need it more than I do." Kay lee pressed a warm dry palm to Becky's cheek then kissed her gently on the lips.

"good bye Rebecca." Kay lee said as she picked up her bag and walked quietly away.
