into the mystic woods

The woods nearby were said to be haunted, but Shiro knew better. In a sense, anyway. There were spirits and demons and such, but for the most part, they worked like people did. She'd encountered oni, kitsune, fairies, elementals, naga, and all manner of supernatural creatures, and she knew there had to be more than what she had encountered. But people had been complaining more lately, and she felt like whatever was going on, she could sort it out. Promise of a reward for whatever she could slay, solve, or capture were promising as well, and she knew that such spiritual creatures called this forest home.

The sun was setting serenely as she entered, sword strapped in tight for whatever she may encounter there...
