hit the car and talk it out

Fiona goes with you out the front, quiet and controlled around you. You get her to the car, almost concerned with her quiet until she gets inside and leans over the seat, giving you a long canine lick up your cheek. You laugh and rub it a bit, but kiss her cheek back when she stays nearby. “What was that?”
“I’m sorry. I wasn’t sure if such a public display of affection was appropriate.”
You shrug and start the car. “It’s fine. I like it. It’s not like I’m ashamed of you or anything.”

Fiona looks rather proud of that fact, looping her arm around yours so as to not impede your driving. “Then… may we go for a walk some time?”
“Yea,” you say, unsure why that would be important. “Yea, that’d be great. Whenever you want.”
She smiled brightly, her lovely face bearing a similarly perfect smile. On a bit of an intuition, you nudge her a bit with your elbow. “You don’t have to be formal with me, you know.”
“Nonsense,” she insists firmly. “I owe you much for selecting me, and I’ll see to it that my master has every reason to keep and appreciate me.” She bats her lashes at you with a coy smile. “And should he see fit to reward me…”
You laugh a bit and nod. “However you like,” you concede. "Anywhere special you'd like to go on your first day on the outside? Dinner, shopping, one of those infamous 'walks?"
