Which woman does Tom prefer?
he goes with her choice
He reached for the final dossier, the one she had deliberately saved for last. The photo on the cover showed a young woman, clearly fresh out of her teens, with wide, curious eyes, a tentative but eager smile, and an energy that suggested enthusiasm mixed with inexperience. The name printed beneath it read Clara Müller, from Germany.
“Clara it is, then,” Tom said, voice calm. Meredith smiled in relief, folding her hands over her belly and glancing at him as if reassured they had made the right choice. To her, it was just a practical household decision.
Tom slid the folder back toward Meredith. “Alright, she’s our final choice. Let’s make the arrangements and have her arrive next week. That should give her time to prepare and for us to get ready on our end.”
Meredith nodded, tucking the folder under her arm. “Good. I want this to go smoothly. The household, the kids… everything. I want someone reliable. Someone who’ll take care of them like I would, but also keep things… under control while I focus on work and the pregnancy.”
Tom leaned back, letting the moment settle. He wondered what Clara Muller would be like - how much "Sarah" would she be?
