"So is Mel still available?" you ask, indicating the naked girl in the dog collar. She looks at you with a curious cock of her head, as if trying to understand you, but the clerk ruffles a hand over her short red hair and urges her a bit closer to you. She sniffs at you with her wholly human-looking nose, but seems to like what she finds as she licks at your hair.

"Looks like that's a yes," the clerk smiles down at her. Mel paws at your leg a bit, pressing her lean but shapely chest into your hip as she sits up on her haunches, looking at you excitedly. You hold up the collar and she gives an excited canine yip.

"So do I still...?" you ask the clerk curiously.

"Oh yes. It marks her as yours, so it's good for their mental state, but also it will help the public realize who she is, and not just you mistreating a human being."

"Awesome..." you say warily, unsure about the implications it would otherwise present. So you kneel down and rub at her hair and ears. She whines affectionately, tilting her head to let you reach her more easily as you pop the collar into place. "You wanna go home with me then, Mel?" you offer.

She barks again, wiggling her butt as if trying to wag a tail. "Still can't talk, eh? Should've guessed..."

"She should catch on to it gradually," the clerk insisted, starting up the paperwork. "The collar may start patching up things, but really it will depend on how much she wants to learn. We look forward to seeing what comes of you two."
