John wrote some more: no one but me will ever use, take, or notice these markers. He thought for a moment then decided to experiment. Until I want it otherwise, people will ignore what I do.

He put the marker down and went over to the sink. His mom had sat at the table and was sipping coffee. He took a bottle of dish soap and walked over to his mom. He squirted a shot of soap into her coffee right in front of her. She said and did nothing as she looked at her phone, reading a news article on Facebook. She took a sip of coffee then spit it out. "What the hell?" she said as she got up and walked to the sink.

John put the pad and pens in a drawer and left his house. He walked two houses down and right into the Youngblood's house. He found Mrs. Youngblood and her daughter Tina in the kitchen. They ignored his presence.

John wondered how to test the limits of people ignoring him.
