Kanami Kentou
“WHY IS MY PICTURE NAKED!”
Protagonist of the story, extremely clumsy and with almost cursed bad luck, she tries her best to get by and follow the path of a Ninja.
While Kanami isn't evil, years of indoctrination have screwed with her moral compass quite a bit. She isn't above screwing people over or even killing them as long as it means money. Luckily, her ineptitude has prevented her from ever actually committing anything too horrific. Think of her as a vicious little feral kitten. You know it would ruthlessly kill you if it could, but that doesn't change how adorable it is.
Likes: Money, cute things
Hates: being a ninja, losing

Freya Idun
“...bold of you to think you have earned the right to see my face.”
The only thing Freya and Kanami have in common is their love for money. Freya is everything Kanami is not, Calm, cool and very skilled in the arts of the Ninja. Freya quickly realized that Kanami has one skill: attracting attention and as such Freya is more then happy to use Kanami as a distraction while achieving her own objective.
That said, Freya does care in her own way for Kanami and often saves her from certain **** and even buys her a meal when it looks like Kanami is about to pass out from hunger.
Likes: Money, Kanami(in that order)
Hates: clients who try to scam her.

Beatrice
“I personally prefer the name Miracle, but this shall do”
A powerful witch that lives in black forest. Dreams of world domination, but is too lazy to actually go trough with it, so she spends most of her time lazing in her castle and cursing whoever is foolish enough to try to challenge her.
Has a rather haughty personality but isn't evil per se.
Likes: Magic, power
Dislikes: effort, boredom

Level system
In this world everyone has a level as well as a level cap. Levels can be raised until the Level cap, the higher the better.
level caps go from as low as 1 to in theory indefinitely. The highest ever recorded Levelcap was that of Dark Lord Kayblis at 250, although it is assumed that Demon King Khulf Khulf had a level cap in the thousands.
Levels work exponentially. The gulf between Level 10 to 20 is smaller then the one from 20 to 30.
some examples:
Level cap 10: average level cap of a human, although without the training the average human usually remains at Level 6-7 at the point of adulthood.
Level cap 20: considered the threshold for gifted. Basically top of the class material. Level 20 is the bare minimum you should have before considering becoming an adventurer. 1 in 20
Level cap 30: extremely gifted. At a level cap of 30 you are almost destined for success. You also get a special Level Goddess as perk. 1 in 500
Level cap 40: top government and military positions are usually filled with person in their 40's At this level you can singlehandedly slay a monster that would be a threat for 100 Level 20 Adventurers. 1 in 10'000
Level cap 50: considered the treshold for hero. At this level nothing short of a Dark Lord is a threat to you. 1 in a Million
Level cap 60: the heroes of this generation. It is unlikely for more then ten to exists at any given moment 1 in 100 Million
Level cap 70 and beyond: The heroes of legends. You are lucky to live it the same era as one of those.
While knowing your level and level cap is relatively easy (simply visit a level shop) you might not want to make this public knowledge. Monster furthermore do not have Levels and rather are born with a fixed strength.
