Founding of Cerulean Beach

In the Age of Exploration a group of people settled somewhere along the balmy coast of the northern hemisphere of the middle continent. Their native region was starting to fill up. So the issue was escalated all the way up to the league assembly. There it was decided to do a public appeal for people willing to settle in new regions.

A carrack explorer vessel had mapped these new regions. The exploration report from the explorer guild of the coastal league marked this place on the map as a good settling ground for a new core. It also mentioned it as suitable for fishing and farming.

So the group consisted mainly of farmers and fishers willing to discover new places, but also people who were aware of how to build a settlement. So a small flotilla set out to the place of the new core-to-be consisting of a fully rigged carrack cargo, one of the largest vessel in the coastal league fleet. And several tender ships who were used to load the cargo vessel with a starter kit for farmers and all the necessities to get a new settlement going. Once they had dropped off the settlers the tenders would stay behind as multi-use vessels for the new settlement. In time the settlement will build more specific types of ships e.g. dedicated fishing boats, but this should get them going.

The settlers consisted of apprentice members wanting to prove themselves in the eye of their elders, full members, their pets, and senior members. The last will act as leaders until the settlement is stable enough that a proper guild structure can be established in the new core.

The first proper guilds to be established were those of fishers and farmers and an ad-hoc guild to gather the rest which they called the support guild. They chose to name the new core Cerulean Beach after the typical colour of the water.

In time a minor guild was established to cater for the expanding community of Cerulean Beach.

As the community grew the support guild was disbanded because the community had become large enough to see the emergence of more specific guilds.

And then finally, one was able to install a proper council assembly with representatives of each group in Cerulean Beach. Until that time, first the senior members had led Cerulean Beach as an ad-hoc council assembly. Later, once the three guilds were established enough to form their own guild council, they formed a small council assembly with representatives of only the farmers, fisher, and support guild.

Now that Cerulean Beach had time to firmly establish itself, formal trade routes with the other coastal league cores were opened.

In time Cerulean Beach was formally accepted as a new member of the coastal league. As a result, the traffic between Cerulean Beach and the other league cores intensified. People from other cores wanted to see the new core and those born in Cerulean Beach wanted to see the other cores.

As Cerulean Beach kept growing new developments on the horizon ushered in a new era. Increased coordination eventually led to a Federation of Leagues. Henceforth it was then known as the Lupus Federation.

As a consequence of the new developments, the guild structure got superseded by a federal Union Council for the guild members, a coordinating organization for the federal unions for each trade. The guild schools and minor guilds got superseded by the educational councils. And the guild pet centers got superseded by Pet Center Incorporated and the Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Pets nowadays better known as the PCI and SPCP. The governmental part of the guild structure is superseded by councils e.g. the council assembly became the city council.

And thus Cerulean Beach is ushered into the Modern Times era. In the previous era it would be considered a rural center but now in Modern Times it’s called a beach town just as it is today.
