an antique mirror

Stefany opened the large package that had arrived. It was a mirror, a really big one, foldable, and with legs so it could stand up without leaning against the walls.

Stefany: Wow, it must be vintage, it must have belonged to a movie star from the last century. Oh, there's a ticket. ummm, the Mirror of Minerva, an antique mirror given by the goddess Aphrodite to Zeus' wife to keep her company when her husband ran off chasing one of his many lovers... Someone had some imagination, let's see how it's assembled.

Stefany fiddled with the mirror for almost ten minutes and managed to assemble it.

Stefany: There you go, so let's see how this antique mirror looks now that it's assembled.

The rectangular mirror, two meters tall and half a meter wide, stood upright, supported by two legs at the base and a board at the back. The brass border was decorated with elegant, curved engravings. Stefany's shield. Her gaze rested on the glass surface, so clean it seemed it wasn't even there, and if she reached out, she could touch her reflection. She placed her hand on it, expecting to touch the glass, but instead she felt the warmth and the sensation of touching another hand.

At the same time as she cried out in surprise, "What the hell?" she felt the same thing coming from the reflection, startling her.

Minerva's mirror, once opened, connected to a parallel, mirrored dimension, becoming a portal uniting the two realities. Stefany found herself lying before herself, identical in every way except that she was left-handed while she was right-handed.
