Chapter 2 by Cantraps Cantraps

What's next?

Zebediah Killgrave aka Purple Man

Killgrave was beyond frustrated. Usually when he wanted something he just took it. One word in an ear and anyone in the world was his for 24 hours. Supplicant to his every whim, any person, and they were usually women, would kill for him without blinking. One target though had turned out to be beyond his reach, and what a target. In his eyes Susan Storm was the picture of perfection. A perfect body, one of the most beautiful women in the world with an intellect to match, Zebediah went to sleep thinking about possessing her every night.

He'd tried to take her, to make her his, but she'd seen him and put his head in a **** field. Without his voice he was powerless and capture by the authorities had been inevitable which led to his current incarceration. Escape from the Raft had proved troublesome so Purple Man had come up with a new plan. A **** of sorts. If he couldn't have Susan for himself he would destroy her instead. Killgrave was a student of mind control of all sorts. It fascinated him how many ways there were to twist the human mind. His powers were chemical based, from an accident in a chemical refinery, but recently he'd been experimenting with ways of affecting the mind remotely. One abandoned line of enquiry was colour. He had discovered a colour that would, once seen, affect the human mind. From his experiments Killgrave believed that the colour, on repeat exposure, gradually wore away at an individual's inhibitions, taken further, morals would be purged, leaving the individual at the mercy of their base instincts.

Zebediah had abandoned the research as the colour was outside of the visible spectrum, making it useless as a weapon. But now, he had an idea. Reed Richards, in his arrogance, had published multiple scientific papers on his family's power sets. Upon reading the paper on Susan's powers, Zebediah discovered that when invisible Susan's powers allowed her to see beyond the visible spectrum of light. If he was correct, this meant that she would be susceptible to the colour's effects. Zebediah had used his contacts in the outside world to make the arrangements and, if all had gone to plan, tonight was the night. A subtle change to the programming at the central power grid and now every streetlight in the city would shine a tiny amount more brightly, with an unseen ultra-purple glow, ready and waiting for Susan to use her powers and experience it's effects.

Purple Man turned to his cell-mate, hard from the thought of what the colour would do to the Invisible Woman.

"Electra, service me."

"Of course my master," purred the mind-controlled assassin, peeling off her prison uniform and exposing her exquisite body to her lord and master for the day. Zebediah smiled and lowered his pants, being in the Raft did have it's perks.

How does Sue see the light?
