Chapter 5
by Cgannman
How do things go at home?
Your mom was busy!
As you and charmander walk in to your house, you see mom sitting at the table next to a giant backpack. Wait a minute, that is my backpack.
"I wanted to help you get ready as I know how eager you are to leave. Don't worry. I understand. I love the peace and quiet but I know it drives you nuts. The least I can do is get your gear packed and ready for you. I also packed you some- Oh my Arceus aren't you just the cutest thing ever!" My mom had started by going over my backpack but the moment she turned and saw us she squeeled in delight at charmander.
"I know. He is adorable. A real lady killer. Isn't that right charmander. Your my handsome little protector." I rubbed the top of his head affectionately.
"Yes he is ooh I am so happy for you. Now, as I was saying I packed a week's worth of travel rations and about a week's worth of pokemon food. I'm sure you can get more in the towns as you journey. In addition, I got you some new shoes. I knew you wouldn't even think of getting new shoes for your journey and yours are soon going to be falling apart." She had gestured to my shoes and I knew she was right. Didn't mean I had to tell her that though.
"Mom the ones I have on now are fine."
"No they aren't and you know it. These are hiking boots. Not exactly ideal for sprinting but they will last you a while. Also, and this is important. I have some money saved up for you. Here is $3,000 to help you along the way. I have the utmost faith in your little charmander here but if you ever loose a pokemon battle with a trainer its best to have some spare cash on hand. Sometimes trainers can get mad if they win and their opponent doesn't have a money to pay to the victor. They might make you pay in other ways and I want to protect my little girl for as long as possible." She hands me my purse, which I can see has several large bills inside. I immediately hug my mom. I couldn't believe she was so supportive of me.
"I don't know what to say to this mom. You are the best."
"Well you could also start by saying thank you." She snickered as I wiped away a tear that had fallen down my cheek.
"Thank you mom! So much! Thank you!"
"I have one more gift for you. I know no daughter ever wants to get these from their mother but I was your age believe it or not. Here. Take these." And with that she handed me a box of condoms..
"Mooommmm!!" I groaned as I blushed. I couldn't believe she was giving me condoms like I was some floozy. Hell, the only boys nearby was professor Oak's grandkid Gary and that wierd Ash guy.
Gary was a prideful jackass too full of himself to actually consider spending any time with. Only thing he ever wanted to talk about was himself.
Ash was ok but kind of wierd. He was always fixating on becoming a pokemon master and to be honest, you had pegged him for a pokemon fanboy a long time ago.
"I was your age once and you are going to meet all kinds of young men who want to sweep you off of your feet and get into your pants. I would feel better knowing your trip won't be cut short by any unplanned suprises." She said in that typical mom voice. It conveyed the hidden message that she knew what she was talking about and my wisest course of action was to shut up and agree.
"I will be careful mom I promise. Did you pack up everything already?" I asked as I began rummaging around in the side pockets. With my tent strapped to the top of the backpack I wouldn't be able to see inside the main compartment. Oh well .
"Yep. You are all set. Go have fun and do try to visit sometimes. This old hag would love the company." She looked down at that and before she could berate herself any further I jumped in.
"Mom you are only 39 years old. You look great! You are still in your prime. You should get back out there!" It was no lie. My mom looked great. She was 5'7" and had long brown hair that reached almost to her butt. Which was toned to the yoga she did on the front porch every morning. Her brown eyes were always twinkling with laughter and her tits were probably a D cup since they only slightly outmatched my perky C cups.
"I appreciate the thought but my time has passed. Now its your time. Go on and get out of here. You have been waiting for this moment for the past seven years at least. Don't let your old mom stop you now." She was helping me put on my backpack and with a final goodbye wave to me amd charmander we were on our way.
"You ready little buddy?" I asked looking down to my charmander.
"Char!" One short nod and a char later we were headed to route one. My pokemon journey beginning.
