Your friends. (U)

You quickly head towards your locker. Your mind is racing as you try to calm yourself down. Your heart is racing as you try not to think too much about it. But it's hard, with every step you take you can feel your skirt hitting your leg.

A constant reminder. Of what you were wearing. You can't escape it, you already sealed your fate. You can't close your eyes and pretend that the problem is not there.

Suddenly something hits you hard. It makes you stop in your tracks as you see up ahead. It was your friends...

You see that Donna was there. The school local goth queen. Well, a self-proclaimed one. There were some goths here and there but Donna was different.

The goths usually kept to themselves and didn't like outsiders, always rude and in the back. Donna on the other hand was proud to wear her heart on her sleeves.

Literally and figuratively. If you confront her she will bark back. She likes wearing her favorite band merch and is proud to show off her tattoos. You honestly forgot how you became friends with her.

You see Chris cracking jokes with the group. He was always street smart, and witty. Well, that is how he describes himself. You know for a fact that he is just a goofball.

He's a player... Well a wannabe player. He has the looks of a fuck boy but without the charisma. You find it funny when you watch him try to flirt with girls. He always fails because all he does is cheesy pickup lines.

But you always know it's just for good fun. Chris is always a good guy being there when the team needs it. If you need someone to cheer you up he's the guy. Even if the jokes are bad.

Honestly, you don't know why Valerie hangs out with you. Out of the many groups in the school, she likes to hang out with the odd squad. She is rich, cute, and a cheerleader.

Making her a good candidate for being in the rich girl's clique. If not part of the Jocks or popular girls. Instead, she likes to hang out with this group. She get's slack for it by other people but she doesn't care.

You know how she is, she does what she likes to do. You can tell she is a genuine person compared to the rest of the school. At times she is snarky and witty but you know deep down she cares.

In her own words. "Why hang out with a bunch of fakes when I can be with you guys."

Last but not least is Jeff. You can see him being quiet in the background just listening along. He was one of the first friends you made in high school. A nerdy guy wearing his favorite games on his shirt.

He was a shy timid guy who doesn't talk much. But knowing him over the years he's not just only that. He does like to talk a lot, he geeks out on random things. He says weird and interesting facts and is also there as your pal.

Plus he was a big sweetheart. One of the nicest guys you have ever met in your life. He once drove 45 mins to your house just to drop off pizza because you were hungry. You couldn't ask for a better best friend than him.

You can see all of them just waiting at your locker.

Honestly, you just want to avoid them. You didn't want to face your friends dressed like this. Dress like a girl... You didn't want to see their reactions. Your mind twists and turns coming up with the worst scenario.

But you have to. You have your homework inside your locker. Swallowing your anxiety down into your throat. You can see your friends up ahead waiting for you. You then take a step forward. There is no turning back at this point.
