Your evening gets hit with a storm

You wake up slowly, still snuggled on Abigail, your head between her breasts. You see she is just reading a book on her phone, having kept her word to stay with you. You can see the afternoon light coming through your weekend and as you stretch out a little, Abigail notices you are awake. "Good evening sleepyhead. Have a good dream?" She asks teasingly. "You were a pretty busy sleeper."

"Thanks Abigail... I love you too." You give her a mock hurt look. She laughs and leans down and gives you a big kiss. You snake your arm around her neck and kiss her back deeply.

You are interrupted by Naomi barging into your room. You break your kiss with Abigail and look at her. She's clearly distraught as she speaks "Jace, I need your help. Zoey is freaking out. Ashley is missing. I know you owe Ashley nothing and she's a total witch but Zoey is my best friend. Please help me help Zoey find her."

While you have no love left for Ashley, anything that is causing Naomi pain, causes you pain as well. You give Abigail one more quick kiss and mouth thank you to her before you sit up and exit the bed. "Let's go Naomi, you know I will do anything for you I can." The two of you head down to the living room where Zoey is crying. "Come on Zoey, let's go find her."

"I'm so sorry! I hate turning to you for this but I didn't know where else to go." Zoey struggles to get out.

"Zoey, you are practically family. You've spent more time here through high school than at your own home. And I understand why with your parents always gone. Where are they this time?" You know that distracting Zoey with small change in topic should help her get moving. The three of your head outside for your truck.

"Milan, I think, some fashion event. They just don't seem interested in our lives. I don't understand. They did not even answer me when I tried to reach them." You jump into the truck, Naomi gets into the passenger seat and Zoey into the back. "Ashley seemed upset last night but ok-ish... I haven't seen her all day now and I'm worried. She's turned off her location on her phone and my calls go right to voicemail. None of my texts are getting through."

"We will find her. It will be ok Zoey." You offer Zoey some supportive words before whispering into Naomi's ear. "Would you rather give me directions to guide us to Ashley or that I just know where to go?" Naomi gives you a puzzled look as she answers quietly to just know. You throw the truck into drive and head out. You really hate the answer of where Ashley is as its one of your old spots. A scenic overlook at the bend of the river. Its a beautiful spot and the two of you used to spend a lot of quality time there. Normally, it took you about 15 minutes to get there but today you did it in less than ten. You have a growing sense of dread as you get closer.

As you pull in, you can see Ashley watching the river and see she's on the wrong side of the guardrails. You really hope she's not going to do something stupid. You slam the truck into park and jump out while it's still running. You see her tense herself as you run towards her and realize your hope was in vain. As you almost reach her she jumps towards the river below. Without thinking, you dive over the side and grab onto her. The cliff is about 100 feet high and you know you don't have much time. "Would you rather survive this with no injury or with a few broken bones?"

"No injury." Comes her smug reply and you both hit the rushing water hard, the realization she played you hitting harder than the water did.
