Your classroom

You decide that you want to visit your classroom. After all, you reason, if you're going to be impersonating a teacher, it might be best to have some familiarity with your workplace. You've read, or at least skimmed, through the texts used in your classes, and you're confident that you can fake it. The academic standards of Pink Rose students don't seem to be particularly high, and you don't expect any serious difficulty.

You find your classroom on the second floor of the main building. There's a view of the north lawn through some arched windows, and several maps decorate the walls. About twenty student desks are in the room, all of them looking like antiques, and a massive wooden teacher's desk at the front of the room.

You sit in the swivel chair and survey the room, nodding your head in satisfaction. Idly, you pull the desk drawers open, finding the usual clutter of pens and paper. You are slightly surprised to find the file drawer about half full, and pull files out at random to examine them.

Most of them seem to be mundane, but you're pleased to discover a set of lesson plans that cover various units of the courses you're teaching. You're impressed by the detail, and realise that following them will greatly enhance your impersonation. Smiling, you put them away and reach to open the last drawer.

It opens a few inches, then sticks, as if caught on something. You tug harder, and suddenly it comes free, sliding completely out of the desk and clattering on the floor. With a muffled curse you kneel to pick up the clutter of papers that have fallen out as the drawer came loose. You shove them back in, then lift the drawer to put back on the sliders. As you do you feel something odd underneath the drawer.
